Super Small PBE Patch

Yet another patch has hit the PTR today. However all the changes for this page are currently unused particles and icons. Hopefully they should become active in a future build.

[FAQ] New Volunteer pilot program: The Huntsmen!

Greetings summoners!

JD here, and I wanted to introduce to you a new volunteer program being piloted called The Huntsmen. The TL;DR is this: The Huntsmen are passionate players on a mission. That mission is to find and report bugs in the Public Beta Environment (PBE) so that Riot QA can squash more of them before hitting the LIVE environments.

Below is a brief FAQ introducing the program. If you have any additional questions, please ask them below.

Regards,
-JD

How Can I Get Involved?
It’s easy; If you have a PBE account, just help focus your efforts on finding bugs. Check the PBE forums for open issues and issues currently being tracked, and help contribute to the conversation with The Huntsmen. They’re there to help guide those conversations and organize the seeking and destroying of these bugs!

How do I become a Huntsman?
For now, like all other volunteer programs, Huntsmen are recruited based on pretty basic criteria: How active a player is on the PBE server and forums, how helpful they are to the PBE community, how substantial their input is and are they sportsman who follow the summoner’s code. Exceptional players that stand out from the crowd are identified and encouraged into the program.

In the future, the process for applying to volunteer programs will be more open than this.

How do I identify a Huntsman?
Like other volunteers, Huntsmen are identified by a unique icon and username color on the forums. Their color is dark blue, and they’ll have the “Huntsmen” title under their avatar.

I don’t have a PBE account, how do I get one?
Registration for the PBE is opened and closed periodically. The PBE is limited in size, and only so many people can play on it concurrently. We noticed login queues were consistently too high, and have metered registrations to help mitigate. Keep an eye out on the PBE forums for when registrations open.

This doesn’t mean you can’t be active though! Finding bugs on the LIVE environment (especially localization bugs in international territories) would be a huge help, and can be reported on the Bug Report forums.

Garen Also Needs a VU

IronStylus has this to say about Garen

Garen also needs a VU.. that's what I'm calling Visual Updates now.. spread the word.

He's not a huge priority, but since he's such a staple of the IP he really needs a good once-ver.

IronStylus Talks About Sejuani

So, developer's note: Here's part of the mistake. What you're stating above didn't happen. Sejuani's character art was actually made before her story was written and solidified. The was no rhyme or reason whatsoever for us to make her in a metal bikini. We very well may have excused her base look we were 100% committed to due to production timelines by making caveats in her story.

Those were the "Looks cool, ship it." sorta days where crunch time, bandwidth, less staff and overlapping development was causing us to develop our stories and lore while the production of the asset was actually already under way and often too slammed to make minor changes. I remember being in an animation review and bringing up the fact that her shield was taking up a lot of real estate and that its symmetry was causing it to clip into the boar. This was regarded as a good point, and we all agreed that we should carve a notch into it so she could hunker down, but we actually didn't have the time to execute on it. It was no one's fault, it was just a really hectic time, and that shows.

There was no opportunity to create a compelling story to drive the character, our schedules were too crammed at that time. That's reflected pretty much everywhere in Sejuani, from concept to kit. She's pretty half baked in a number of areas, hence why she's a good place to take a chance on finishing what we feel is a little incomplete.

I appreciate how passionate you are about it, but you're making assumptions that we didn't make mistakes here and that we abide by frameworks we carefully constructed. The truth is we did make mistakes, there was no real groundwork and it shows.
