Goth Annie Sale Has Been Canceled

Goth Annie Sale Has Been Canceled

The sale that was announced just 2 hours ago, has been canceled

Hey guys – clearly a lot of you were taken aback by the plan to sell Goth Annie in the store for 975 RP. The goal here was to help out players that didn't want to have to overpay for Goth Annie (because they already owned a lot of the champions in the pack), but based on the feedback here, we’re no longer planning to release Goth Annie into the store as a standalone skin with the upcoming patch.

To anyone who was excited about the prospect of picking up Goth Annie, we’ll be looking for better ways to meet your needs as well as the needs of players who value skin exclusivity.

At lot of this stuff is misguided. The people who were arguing about this(myself included) did NOT care that other people were going to have the skin. What we cared about was the fact that the skin costs almost 4000 riot points, and they were releasing the skin at 975. All we asked for is a refund of the price difference(because more of us bought that pack specifically for the skin than most people think) and I personally didn't want them to deprive others of the enjoyment of this skin. That said, if you really want the skin, it IS still for sale in the store.
tl;dr I'm sorry that we got Annie taken away, We just wanted to make sure that Riot wasn't going to screw us over.

I would agree and yet disagree with this statement.  The skin did not cost 4000 RP. For a start it gives a 1300 RP refund, making it approx 2600 RP.  Second, it gives 20 champions on top of the skin; it is clearly not for the skin alone.  If you honestly bought all of the champions, and then looked at one single skin and said "ooh, I want to spend 2600 on one single skin and 4 runes"...then you must have known what you were doing.  What riot are doing even if they do not release the skin on its own, is lowering the cost somehow of the skin if people own a majority of its content.  In all honesty though, look at it this way.  If there's an item in a store, say a game, that is £60 when it's first released, and after a year or two, the price dropped down to £20, do you complain and say "oh my GOD I bought that game at £60, I demand a refund of £40!!!!!!"  No, you take that £40 extra payment as time you got to enjoy the game when others didn't own it.  It was privilege of owning the game early.  Am I wrong in your eyes?

Either way though, Riot are dropping the price of this skin; The people that called out and stopped it being released seperately only temporarily got their way. (Plus, in all honesty, I have a large pe*is irl, I don't need to swing my virtual one around with a "rare" (2600 RP only if you own all champions) skin to inflate it.

Yes you are wrong. When they said the skin was EXCLUSIVE to the bundle, and then sell it standalone, that is wrong. It is going against exactly what they said when they first released the bundles. In all honesty, people would've done the same if it was Sivir getting the VU and it was her Huntress Skin getting released standalone. Not to mention there IS precedent for the refund because they did it when they released the 5 legacy Legendary skins for sale half price. Every player who bought the skin when it was max price got refunded the price difference.
You are making the exact same inference that I JUST stated in my post was wrong. We don't care that others get it, we care that we get compensated when someone else get's the skin for 1/3 of the price.

I was looking forward to Goth Annie, I hope there is something that comes out soon, so that I can buy her. I own most of the champs in the bundle deal already :(. Hope to see her soon! Fav skin! Anyone heard anything about Franken Tibbers skin?

  • #36 Niailyse

Assuming you have the champs in the pack, it's basically a more expensive legendary skin. You can still buy it, no one is stopping you. You just can't see through your own tears.

Meanwhile, Goth Annie, Goth Tibbers, and I will enjoy using said tears to sweeten our tea. Keep it coming, Tibbers likes his tea parties.

Until all this hubbub, I hadn't realized that the skin came with the Digital Collectors Pack that I had bought.  So I didn't know that I owned the skin.  Since I don't play Annie I really have no use for it.

    meh, I guess I'm saving riots so it's a win/lose.

I bought the pack when I first started just for the Goth Annie skin. They said that it was a waste of money then since it's only a recolor but I didn't cared. I loved that skin. Now Riot kept the exclusivity of the skin. Thanks Riot :D

  • #32 ctiffan

    My sentiments exactly :)

It's been nice having an exclusive skin. And to all the people whining about "thanks for ruining my LIFE, Riot Games!", you should have bought the pack to get the skin when you started playing this game like we all did.  Get. Over. It.

  • #45 gomuninguen

exactly what I did, but then i got Frostfire, then Annie in Wonderland... and I never used Goth again... now it will change! :D

"the needs of players who value skin exclusivity"

if you value or encourage skin exclusivity you are selfish scum, if you voted for exclusive status on the hallowneen skins poll shame on you. "the fact others cant have it makes me enjoy it more" you are a child flaunting his toy at the playground and it makes me sick.

Edit: some of you are running under the assumption that I don't already own goth Annie I'm sorry your wasting your breath on that arguement, this isn't jut about goth Annie tho the fact that players are ready and willing to lol their fellow players out of content with legacy and exclusive skins is horrid.

Nope, but keep QQ-ing like a child who just lost his toy. Oh wait.

I already own goth Annie....oh no there goes your argument...oops sorry.

Name me ONE good reason that I should be mad that others will get to purchase a wonderful skin? Does there amusement detract from my own enjoyment? I'm waiting as you seem pretty convinced.

What makes a diamond valuable? People wear diamonds for their appearance, but high quality cubic zirconia looks almost exactly the same. The value of a diamond is increased by the rarity. Having a diamond delivers a wow factor that instantly gives the owner some sort of recognition and pride. Regardless if this pride or recognition is deserved, a diamond is special and has its value because it's exclusive to those who can afford it. Simply because it does not give you pride or joy to have an exclusive skin, does not make people who do take pride in having one any more immature or childish. It's completely normal to have a desire to impress regardless of how silly you think it is.

Not to be a dick, but I think it's an immature quality to mock people who disagree with you by calling them childish.
