Why would the human be drawing pictures in the eagle's journal and talking about herself in third person?

Obviously the eagle itself can talk and has learned the art of writing, and valor is the name of her human.

I do believe the update(champ) is a spy(assassin)

hmmmm I reckon Valor is her eagle/bird/whatever. Makes sense that the two will come together, since she's a tracker/hunter.
