Karma's Q Now has Working Particles

You can see what it looked like before in our preview video.

Sakura Karma Got Updated

RoG user nikanplus spotted a much wanted change for some to the Sakura Karma skin. Riot has now posted an official statement on this change. You can see her rework, before the dress change in our skin preview.

So as GrumpyMonkey, IronStylus and ohmikegoodness have explained, we had a few technical issues with Sakura Karma. Karma’s new animation set was rather pronounced, which meant a full dress was impractical. You’ve let us know how you felt about this, and there has been a bit of silence on our end. We didn’t want to say we could fix it if we couldn’t.

But we heard you, loud and clear. We agreed, she should be closer to her original Sakura concept. So XRayAlpha and JesterCapp busted their asses and made time to make this a reality. They, and us as a team, felt like there were more things we could do to make this work.

I feel like they totally nailed it out of the park.

Tested out ZACs range increase and it is pretty awesome. Starts at 1150 and goes up 100 range per rank. I was able to jump from the wolves straight to blue buff and from back of the red buff straight to the dragon pit.

  • #20 wulululu

so karma will be now a MID champ? no longer support?

  • #16 Gameguy301
from what i hear karmas passive CDR applies to multiple hits and AOE, W alone is 6 hits, which is 6/9/12 seconds off depending on level and Q is 1.1.5.2 seconds off per person caught in the blast, and if you mantra the second explosion counts as another set of hits. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW YEAH

I tested her W and passive interaction on PBE yesterday and found out that her DoT decreases Mantra CD only once. R+Q, on the other hand, decreases it twice. When you hit 5 enemies with both of R+Q ticks, you'll get a whopping 20 sec CD reduction (R CD is 27.4 with capped CDR).

I'm not usually one to exaggerate but man, they pretty much took the support out of Karma. It makes her way less fun to play imo. I mean, can't W on allies for speed boost (Granted E gives one.), can't heal anyone besides yourself, and Mantra doesn't have two charges giving it less versatility.

I mean don't get me wrong, she'll be super powerful as a mid but she's not really a support anymore which kind of sucks. I mean, don't we have enough AP mids?

  • #17 coolshanth

She was always a kinda crappy support before this rework because she relied heavily on CDR and AP to support well, which is difficult to come by as a support.

Even before the rework, her most viable spot was mid, as evidenced by Singapore sentinel's Karma play, and soloQ stats.

My opinion is that, as a support she's more like Lulu. Early game, you can choose to harass with Q, protect with E, or peel with W. Late game, you can support the whole team with Mantra E or do high base damage with Mantra Q or W.

Yeah, after the rework, I expected her to be more of an hyper aggressive support since Riot inexplicably hates passive play for some reason. I'd agree she's more like Lulu although I wouldn't consider her W a great peel. However, Mantra E is extremely good for a great balance of offense, defense, and utility.

Though I suppose, as Coolshanth stated, she wasn't really great as a support in the first place. I still wish you could attach W onto allies and that Mantra at least had two charges though. :/

Ummm... am I reading this correctly?? You're telling me a Mantra'd Focused Resolve does 560 plus 1.2 times AP damage? That's like.. Veigar's ult minus the other person's AP. And a Mantra'd Q does a total of 785 plus 1.5 times AP? Who needs LeBlanc?

  • #8 nikanplus

Well, now Mantra it's a REAL ulti, it's only logical for it to deal ulti-like damage considering she has 3 skills, not 4.

  • #9 Pikohchu

Oh right.. Haha. I was thinking of chaining that...forgot she only has 1 charge on a longer CD now. Excited to try out the new Karma haha

  • #11 nikanplus

Tried her a lot in the PBE, seems like a very beastly AP mid with amazing utily in teamfight.

Hope they don't nerf her before going live :P

  • #18 Aandeus

    Also, it heals her.

And people are still complaining about her baiting ability.

  • #23 ChaosBloodterfly

    But it consumes two cooldowns. Veigar's RQ is 760+1.8. Leblanc's Q+R  is 792 +2.16.

  • #25 Malkezial

Veigar's RQ is actually 760 + 1.8 AP + .8 their AP. Leblanc's has a silence. Karma's is on a shorter CD. It balances out, she's kind of a hyper-carry with CDR now.

  • #6 nikanplus

Sakura Karma and Sun Goddes Karma also completely changed, you might want to look at that ;)

  • #10 Molster

what do you mean? I jumped on them but didnt see any changes,

I see sakura has a slight slight change to her dress, but thats it [ill recheck sun goddess now]

edit: dont see any changes to her, let me know what it is you saw!

Maybe i was just so happy for Sakura Karma that i saw imaginary changes to Sun Goddes too XD but it really seemed like the dress was slightly longer on the front. Oh well, who cares, the only problem was Sakura and now it's perfect!

  • #15 Molster

its possible, Her model is acting up however, (for exmaple her fans are kind of floating in the air in front of her)

so not sure if its something else going on, or what.  I do have one way to check, ill compare her texture files real fast and see
