"First Blood / Magma Chamber" Map

The Recommended Items for the "First Blood" map for each champion have been added in this patch! You can see more about the Map in a previous news article we posted some time ago.

Champion Changes

Soraka

  • Base Movement Speed is now 340 (up from 335 compared to last PBE Patch)
  • Base Armor is now 13.4 (up from 11.4 compared to last PBE Patch)
  • Base Armor per Level is now 3.6 (down from 3.8 compared to last PBE Patch)

Teemo

  • "Opponent Tips" now says "It can be valuable to use Oracle's Lens(Trinket) to destroy mushrooms around key locations." (Changed from "Oracle's Elixir")

Brand

  • Conflagration [ E ] - Range is now 625 (down from 650 compared to last PBE patch)

Evelyn

  • Hate Spike [ Q ] - Part of the tooltip is changed to "Hate Spike prioritizes the target Evelynn is attacking." from "Hate Spike prioritizes targets Evelynn has recently attacked."

Lucian

  • Piercing Light [ Q ] - Percent of Bonus attack damage dealt  is now 60/70/80/90/100 (down from 60/75/90/105/120 compared to last PBE Patch)
  • Piercing Light [ Q ] - Range is now 550 (down from 570 compared to last PBE Patch)

Lulu

  • Wild Growth [ R ] - Duration of slow is no longer is specified as "1 second"

Taric

  • Shatter [ W ] - Active now reduces nearby enemies' armor by 5/10/15/20/25 (down from 10/15/20/25/30 compared to last PBE patch)

Vi

  • Assault and Battery [ R ] - Tooltip no longer says that Vi is immune to slowing while charging

Item Changes

Farsight Orb (Trinket)

  • UNIQUE Active - Now Reveals an area up to 3000 units away (up from 2500)
  • UNIQUE Active - Added to the tooltip: "Enemy champions found will be visible for 5 seconds"

Greater Lens (Trinket)

  • UNIQUE Active's cooldown is now 60 seconds (down from 90)

Greater Orb (Trinket)

  • UNIQUE Active - Now Reveals an area up to 2500 units away (up from 2000)
  • UNIQUE Active - Added to the tooltip: "Enemy champions found will be visible for 5 seconds"

Oracle's Lens (Trinket)

  • UNIQUE Active - Now grants detection of nearby invisible units for 8 seconds (down from 10 seconds)
  • UNIQUE Active - Cooldown is now 60 seconds (down from 90 seconds) 

Scrying Orb (Trinket)

  • UNIQUE Active - Now Reveals an area up to 1500 units away (up from 1100)
  • UNIQUE Active - Added to the tooltip: "Enemy champions found will be visible for 5 seconds"

Spirit of the Ancient Golem

  • Now grants 14 Health Regen per 5 seconds
  • Now grants 7 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
  • UNIQUE Passive - Spirit Drain is removed

Spirit of the Elder Lizard

  • Now grants 14 Health Regen per 5 seconds
  • Now grants 7 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
  • UNIQUE Passive - Spirit Drain is removed

Spirit of the Spectral Wraith

  • Now grants 14 Health Regen per 5 seconds
  • Now grants 7 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
  • Movement Speed Passive is removed
  • UNIQUE Passive - Spirit Drain - Now restores 8% of spell damage dealt to monsters as health and mana (down from 9% as Health and up from 6% as Mana)
  • UNIQUE Passive - Spirit Drain - Now has half effect for AoE Spells (up from one-third)

Spirit Stone

  • Now grants 14 Health Regen per 5 seconds
  • Now grants 7 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
  • UNIQUE Passive - Butcher - Now deals 20% bonus damage to monsters (down from 25%)
  • UNIQUE Passive - Spirit Drain is removed
  • New UNIQUE Passive - Maim: "Basic attacks against monsters deal 10 bonus magic damage and heal 5 Health on hit." 

Sweeping Lens (Trinket)

  • UNIQUE Active - Cooldown is now 120 seconds (down from 180 seconds)

Mastery Changes

  • Arcane Mastery - Now grants 6 AP (down from 8)
  • Legendary Guardian - Now grants +1 Armor and 0.5 Magic Resist for each nearby enemy champion (changed from "Reduces the duration of crowd control effects by 15%")
  • Martial Mastery - Now grants 4 AD (down from 5)
  • Perseverance - Now regenerates 0.7% missing Health (down from 1%)
  • Runic Shield - Renamed to "Runic Blessing"
  • Tenacious - Now reduces the duration of crowd control effects by 15% (Changed from "+1 Armor and 0.5 Magic Resist for each nearby enemy champion")

Hey PBE Community!

As part of our ongoing effort to examine the way people learn League of Legends for the first time, we’re taking a look at a couple of the first things new players encounter. Current testers will need to request access to this content by asking to be leveled down, but new testers will be exposed to it for a few hours before they're auto-leveled to 30.

The landing page

The landing page is a critical space that we can use to deliver information and content to players. For veteran players, things like news articles and featured matches are easy to understand, but not much of that is relevant to a brand new player. For low-level accounts, we’re trying to customize this space to convey content that is informational and interesting to someone new to the game or the MOBA genre. We plan on exploring and iterating on this content over time, but would appreciate your feedback on this first pass.

Early champion choices

The Free to Play rotation is a great tool to give players access to different champions every week. There are some champions, however, that are simply not meant for a first time League of Legends or MOBA player to pick up and play immediately. We’ve identified champions that are better at introducing the mechanics of the game to a first-time player and implemented a tool that allows us to offer this alternative list to players under a certain level. By segregating these champion choices, we can make sure that the Free to Play rotation caters to the needs and desires of veteran players while offering new players access to champions with more straightforward mechanics.

This test on the PBE will not necessarily be using the optimized list of introductory champions since we know testers are veterans of the game, but we appreciate you testing the transition from the new player champion pool to the Free to Play rotation.

If you are a part of the new batch of PBE testers seeing this content for the first time, please take a look and give us your feedback - make your best attempt at viewing it from the eyes of a new player! The Onboarding team will be keeping an eye on this thread and addressing questions, concerns and speaking to our approach of teaching new players to play League.

If you are already a tester on the PBE and would like to have your level reset to be able to experience this content, please post in this thread and it will be reset.
