Xerath's Reworked Skills

Xerath [Rework V9]

  • Base Mana is now 285 (down from 295 compared to last PBE Patch)
  • Base Mana per level is now 47 (up from 45 compared to last PBE patch)
  • Mana Per 5 seconds is now 6 (down from 7 compared to last PBE patch)
  • Overwhelming Power [ Passive ] - Every 12 seconds Xerath's next basic attack restores [some amount of] mana. Overwhelming
    Power restores double [the amount] mana if attacking champions. (There was a clarification needed here and Daniel Z. Klein made in on Twitter: "t's a non-linear progression from 30 to 195, if memory serves. Double against champs."

  • Arcanopulse [ Q ] - First cast: Xerath charges Arcanopulse,gradually decreasing his Movement Speed while increasing the spell's range.
  • Arcanopulse [ Q ] - Second cast: Xerath fires Arcanopulse, dealing 80/120/160/200/240 (+0.75*AP) magic damage to all enemies in a line. While charging Arcanopulse,Xerath cannot attack or cast other spells.If Xerath does not fire the spell,half the mana cost is refunded.
  • Arcanopulse [ Q ] - Cost: 90/100/110/120/130 Mana
  • Arcanopulse [ Q ] - Range: 750
  • Arcanopulse [ Q ] - Cooldown: 9/8/7/6/5 Seconds
  • Locus of Destruction [ W ] - Xerath calls down a blast of arcane energy, dealing 60/90/120/150/180 (+0.6*AP) magic damage and applying a 10% movement speed slow to all enemies within the target area. Enemies in the center of the blast take 0.6 (+0*AP) magic damage and are slowed by 40/45/50/55/60%.
  • Locus of Destruction [ W ] - Cost: 60/70/80/90/100 Mana
  • Locus of Destruction [ W ] - Range: 1100
  • Locus of Destruction [ W ] - Cooldown: 1/1/1/1/1 Seconds
  • Stasis Orb [ E ]Xerath fires an orb of raw magic. The first enemy hit takes 80/110/140/170/200 (+0.45*AP) magic damage and is stunned for between 0.75 and 2 seconds. The stun duration lengthens based on how far the orb travels.
  • Stasis Orb [ E ] - Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 Mana
  • Stasis Orb [ E ] - Range: 1050
  • Stasis Orb [ E ] - Cooldown: 16/14/12/10/8 Seconds
  • Ascension [ R ]Xerath ascends to his true form, becoming rooted in place and gaining 3 Arcane Barrages. This magic artillery deals 140/190/240 (+0.3*AP) magic damage to all enemies hit. If Arcane Barrage only hits a single target, it deals 75% extra damage. The root ends after 6 seconds, when all shots have been fired or when manually deactivated by issuing a move command. If Xerath does not fire off a single Arcane Barrage, half of the cooldown of Ascension is refunded.
  • Ascension [ R ] - Cost: 100 Mana
  • Ascension [ R ] - Range: 2900/3600/4500
  • Ascension [ R ] - Cooldown: 135/120/105 Seconds 


  • Lunar Rush [ R ] - Added to the tooltip: 'All other enemies will have the Moonlight debuff removed regardless of whether they were the target of Lunar Rush.'


  • Cannon Barrage [ R ] - Duration is now 6 seconds (down from 7 compared to last PBE patch)


  • Void Stone [ Passive ] - Tooltip now says: "Kassadin takes 15% reduced magic damage and converts this damage taken into bonus Attack Speed."
  • Null Sphere [ Q ] - Now deals 70/90/110/130/150 damage (down from 80/115/150/185/220)
  • Nether Blade [ W ] - Passive: Kassadin's basic attacks draw energy from the void, dealing 10/20/30/40/50 (+0.2*AP) bonus magic damage.
  • Nether Blade [ W ] Active: Kassadin charges his Nether Blade for his next basic attack, increasing Nether Blade's damage to 40/80/120/160/200 (+0.8*AP) and restoring 4 % of his maximum Mana (0.2*Mana). Mana restore triples to 0.8*Mana against champions.
  • Nether Blade [ W ] - Now has no cost (previously cost 25 mana)
  • Nether Blade [ W ] - Cooldown is now 9/8/7/6/5 Seconds (down from 12/12/12/12/12 Seconds)
  • Force Pulse [ E ] - Damage dealt upon reaching 6 charges is now 80/110/140/170/200 (down from 80/130/180/230/280)


  • Taste Their Fear [ Q ] - Active: Now deals 50/80/110/140/170 damage (down from 70/100/130/160/190 compared to last PBE patch)
  • Taste Their Fear [ Q ] - Active: Damage now scales with 1.3*AD (down from 1.5*AD compared to last PBE patch)
  • Taste Their Fear [ Q ] - Evolved Enlarged Claws: Bonus damage dealt is now equal to 6 % of the target's missing Health (down from 8% compared to last PBE patch)
  • Leap [ E ] - Damage now scales with 0.4*AD (down from 0.8*AD compared to last PBE patch)
  • Leap [ E ] - Cooldown is now 20/18/16/14/12 Seconds (down from 22/20/18/16/14 Seconds compared to last PBE patch)
  • Void Assault [ R ] - Active: Now increases Kha'Zix's Movement Speed by 50% (up from 40% compared to last PBE patch)
  • Void Assault [ R ] - Active: Added to the tooltip: "Additionally, Kha'Zix ignores unit collision while stealthed."
  • Void Assault [ R ] - Evolved Active Camouflage: Kha'Zix now takes 60% reduced damage (up from 50% compared to last PBE patch) 


  • Caustic Spittle [ Q ] - Active's tooltip now says: "Launches a corrosive projectile that deals 80/130/180/230/280 (+0.7) magic damage to the first enemy hit and reduces its Armor and Magic Resist by 5/10/15/20/25 for 4/4/4/4/4 seconds."
  • Caustic Spittle [ Q ] - Range is now 925 (previously said '0')


  • Command: Protect [ E ] - No longer adds Magic Resist to the allied champion


  • Cull the Meek [ Q ] - Removed from tooltip: 'Enemy champions heal for 4x as much.'
  • Ruthless Predator [ W ] - 50 Fury Bonus: The word "instead" is removed from the beginning of the tooltip, so now it says "Damage increased to 90/135/180/225/270 (+0*AD). Heal percent increased to 10%, up to 150/225/300/375/450." 


  • Crystal Slash [ Q ] - If a unit is struck Skarner now also gains % attack speed for 5 seconds,stacking up to 3 times.
  • Crystal Slash [ Q ] - No longer slows
  • Crystalline Exoskeleton [ W ] - Skarner is now shielded for 80/135/190/245/300 damage (up from 70/115/160/205/250)
  • Crystalline Exoskeleton [ W ] - The damage Skarner is shielded for now scales with 0.8*AP (up from 0.6*AP)
  • Crystalline Exoskeleton [ W ] - While the shield persists, Skarner gains 20/24/28/32/36 % increased Movement Speed (Up from 15/17/19/21/23%)
  • Crystalline Exoskeleton [ W ] - The increased MS ramps up over 3 seconds
  • Crystalline Exoskeleton [ W ] - No longer grants Attack Speed
  • Crystalline Exoskeleton [ W ] - Cooldown is now 16 seconds (down from 18 seconds)
  • Fracture [ E ] - Now slows enemies hit by 30/35/40/45/50% for 2.5 seconds
  • Fracture [ E ] - Removed from tooltip: "Striking enemies will consume the mark to heal Skarner for 30/45/60/75/90 (+0.3*AP).Killing targets outright will also activate the heal.(Each activation heals for 50 % less.)"
  • Fracture [ E ] - Now costs 40/45/50/55/60 Mana (down from 50/55/60/65/70)
  • Fracture [ E ] - Range is now 980 (up from 760)
  • Fracture [ E ] - Cooldown is now 14 seconds (up from 10 seconds) 


  • Cutthroat [ E ] - Talon now teleports to the far side of his target ( changed (yet again) from "instantly appears behind his target")

Xin Zhao

  • Crescent Sweep [ R ] - Added to the tooltip: "(max 600 vs monsters)"


  • Last Breath [ R ] - Now "grants Maximum Flow, but resets all stacks of Gathering Storm"


  • Omen of Famine [ E ] - The healing from ghoul damage is now halved against monsters as well (previously was halved against minions only)


  • Bouncing Bomb [ Q ] - Now costs 70/75/80/85/90 Mana (up from 50/60/70/80/90)
  • Hexplosive Minefield [ E ] - Now specifies that the 40% damage from additional mines now applies when the mine is triggered by champions and monsters (previously said "Enemies")

    This makes me so mad. Xerath was one of my favorite champs because I used him as a sniper. During team fights i could sit behind everyone and deal tons of ap w/out taking much damage, but now, that they have changed his w, I can not snipe as well. Also they took off my stun combo. Using that to escape an engage made me so happy and now I can't do that. He wasn't even an op champ, so why does riot feel the need to mess with him so much.

    Wow RIP in peace Kassadin. As he is my favorite champion, this breaks my heart and simply feels awful. The previous PBE nerfs were managable. These seem like serious overkill. He lost SO much AP ratio on his W compared to the last PBE nerfs. I know, my favorite champion is OP. But not NEARLY THAT OP. I pray that I am wrong, because this game is a big part of my life and it would really make me sad to never see kassadin picked or banned in a tournament.

    i like the skarner changes. his e will actually be useful now. changes to q should increase clear speed a little. I'm still not sure he can stand up to the jungle shyv's  and lee sins of the world but its a step in the right direction. I would have liked to see a bit of power put into his ult. maybe add a increase in % damage done to target while target is suppressed or a decrease in armor and MR, something like that would be cool even a slight increase in the cast range perhaps. 

    liking the xerath changes, i think they make him skillier and spread out the power over the range of his abilities while adding some counterplay to his e. look forward to playing him.

    Season 3 ends -> all FOTM assassins get nerfed -> Kha' Zix finally has the opportunity to shine -> Pros abuse him -> he gets nerfed to oblivion, doomed to be a niche pick

    I don't even try to know what Riot thinks anymore. Kha' Zix, a champion that doesn't obliterate single enemies until late game or unless they are isolated (AKA: a well designed assassin) gets nerfed while a champion like kassadin, who has been a thorn on every player's side for years goes unchecked, getting kit changes that barely change his no-counterplay style: jumps in, silences you, slows you and now can slash at you for good measure, all pretty much unavoidable unless he screws up (AKA: a poorly designed champion).

    Kah' Zix is already a champion with huge counterplay: don't get isolated and he will barely damage you, you can dodge his W skill shot (even if you don't, its damage got reduced enough that it barely counts as poke), his E jump is incredibly short without the wings evolution and his R is a 1 second stealth that is only good enough to reactivate his passive or make a desperate escape.

    We are talking about a guy that practically doesn't have an ultimate (1 second stealth with 2 uses SO OP) and that has his power distributed over his abilities evolutions (pick the wrong evolution and, oh boy, you pretty much lost) and has his power spike at level 11(!!11!1) instead of level 6.

    And they intend to nerf this guy.

    I'm done,  I just can't trust Riot to balance this game anymore

    Whenever I see that a certain assassin is played in the jungle at high Elo, I'm just counting the days until it gets nerfed.

    Consistency is king and that does not work with snowbally assassins. Well, except for when their base damages are high enough to snowball consistently. Even though it never got popular (Voyboy played it a few times), tank Kha'Zix was obnoxious and needed to go, so the nerf is pretty warranted.

    However, Kha'Zix damage on un-isolated targets is pretty bad, so I fear, that he's going to have a lot of problems laning against competent opponents.

    Riot is deliberately leaving Lucian as imba for a few more months to make more money. It is a common strategy of theirs to let new or reworked champions be OP for a long time before balancing them.

    holy fuck the kha zix nerfz welp looks like all the season 2 assassins are dead and gone  (zed,kha and rengar) the dark clouds are finally clearing... i can see the sun for the first time (no but seriously kha.....) i guess the zoidberg quy was right the changes for kass have come back... :D also is xerath new w still as busted as it was before i mean really the range and scaling on that thing...

    yikes! That 80% ban rate won't budge then I guess. were is the cake egg man? you said there would be cake! were's the counter play riot? REQW could land in the blink of an eye just BOOM dead, R is blink, E is an instant AOE, Q is targeted, and W is an auto attack, once hes in range to rift walk the combo is guaranteed, not even CC can stop it thanks to the silence. We have reworks for every manner of no counter play nonsense what's the hold up? you just gave kogmaw his 3rd skillshot surely you can think of something to give kassadin that potential to be outplayed, weaving an auto attack into his full combo is an improvement if just barely.

    if u land an auto attack before u w its practicely a 1:1 ap nuke add a lich bane and he can already do insane amount of damage not counting his high ass scaling on everything, at least they nerfed the absurd 40 magic damage on autos at lvl one lol and i think the 0.4 scaling for those attacks with the starting ap it was doing like a flat 50 or so damage( i may be off a little) his auto attacks were hitting harder than an ad champs autos at early-mid game...i wonder what will be the best skill to lvl ive been doing w its worked so far.... but this is pbe... so not everyone is a scarra or faker on the server -___-( im by no means a diamond or challenger but id like to think im competent to a certain degree) so i guess the name of the game will be ,even more so now,  SHUT HIM DOWN FAST or suffer his wraith

    I think you are underestimating the decrease to his damage. His EQ combo does 150 base damage less at level 18 now, and except for the one .8 ratio activation, his W now only has a .2 ratio. Also it barely ever gives him mana in lane now. I don't see him 100-0ing people any time soon unless he gets seriously fed.

    Haven't read all the comments so I might be repeating this, but someone should fix the part where they say Xerath's new W has 1 sec CD... That would be mostly disturbing

    IIRC a while ago they said that Xerath's W will be based on an ammo system. It isn't mentioned here but I believe that is the case.
