Vel'Koz Texture Update

An update of Vel'Koz's base skin texture was pushed to the PBE yesterday. It's way sharper and has something players wanted from Day 1: His eye now resembles a lot more his eye from the splash!

Summoner Spell Changes


  • Channeling duration is now 3.5 seconds (down from 4 seconds)

Champion Changes

Note: Annie's Change is a revert from a previous PBE patch. Some of Kassadin's changes are reverts from the huge bulk of changes that came on Saturday.


  • Base range is now 625 (up from 575 compared to last PBE patch)


  • Base Movement Speed is now 340 (down from 350)
  • Base Armor is now 17.2 (down from 21.2)
  • Base Health per 5 sec is now 6.95 (down from 8.95)
  • Null Sphere [ Q ] - Shield duration is now 1.5 seconds (down from 2 seconds)
  • Nether Blade [ W ] - Active: Next basic attack now deals 40/65/90/115/140 damage (up from 40/60/80/100/120)
  • Nether Blade [ W ] - Active: Next basic attack's damage now scales with 0.5*AP (up from 0.4*AP)
  • Nether Blade [ W ]Active: Next basic attack now restores 6/8/10/12/14 % of Kassadin's missing Mana (changed from 10% at all ranks)
  • Nether Blade [ W ] - Cooldown is now 6 seconds at all ranks (changed from 7/6/5/4/3 Seconds)


  • Hiten Style [ W ] - Now has no cost (down from 40 Mana)


  • Caustic Spittle [ Q ] - Active now deals 80/130/180/230/280 damage (up from 60/110/160/210/260)
  • Caustic Spittle [ Q ] - Active's damage now scales with 0.5*AP (down from 0.7*AP)
  • Caustic Spittle [ Q ] - Active now reduces opponent's Armor and Magic Resist by 20/22/24/26/28% (changed from 5/10/15/20/25)
  • Caustic Spittle [ Q ] - Now costs 50 Mana (down from 60 mana)
  • Caustic Spittle [ Q ] - Range is now 975 (up from 625)
  • Bio-Arcane Barrage [ W ] - Now has no cost (down from 50 Mana)
  • Living Artillery [ R ] - The word "base" added to the tooltip, so that now it says "deals 125 % bonus base damage to Champions"
  • Living Artillery [ R ] - Subsequent artillery shots cost now specified to start at 40 additional Mana


  • Rapid Fire [ Q ] - Now has no cost (down from 50 mana)


  • Vault Breaker [ Q ] - Second cast's minimum damage is now 50/75/100/125/150 (down from 50/80/110/140/170)
  • Vault Breaker [ Q ] - Second cast's minimum damage now scales with 0.8*AD (up from 0.7*AD)
  • Vault Breaker [ Q ] - Second cast's maximum damage is now 100/150/200/250/300 (down from 100/160/220/280/340)
  • Vault Breaker [ Q ] - Second cast's maximum damage now scales with 0.8*AD (up from 0.7*AD)
  • Assault and Battery [ R ] - Cooldown is now 150/115/80 Seconds (changed from 130/105/80 seconds)

    28% MR shred to go with Kog's on-hit effect of 6% (+ 1% per 100 AP) of target's maximum health in magic damage? AP Kog'Maw is now #1 tankbuster.

    It's great because we're in a tank meta lol. I think he'll see a good bit more play in the bot/ mid lane.

    Its more than that too.  You can build BotRK on him and L. Torment for even more % health damage.  He seriously can take down anyone 1v1 or destroy tanks, as jacktheplum stated, we are in a tank meta and we need more champions like kog in the game to stop this meta as its just like league of warmogs where people just stacked health.

    Those Kog'Maw buffs are looking great.

    Also, if that trist buff goes live, AP trist will have free mana cost ability to proc her Lich Bane.  I like that.

    So you're buffing Annie's scaling and nerfing her base damage on her abilities still, but not reducing her AA range? Really...

    They're trying to nerf support Annie without nerfing mid Annie. The attack range may be one thing that makes support Annie strong, but it's also how mid Annie farms. The partial cooldown refresh on Q will also make mid Annie's farming easier, to compensate for the reduced base damage and higher scaling. But support Annie doesn't farm, so this will nerf that as intended.

    Whats to stop an annie from taking Relic and getting Q charges? The scaling might make the base damage nerfs negligible so....

    Relic needs to recharge every 60 seconds, so support Annie still won't get gold as quickly. Remember that the break-even point is 250 AP. Choosing the Relic Shield line also has its own tradeoffs: the Coin line's final item has the strongest active, and the Spellthief line improves AP and poke, whereas the Relic line is more about durability.

    The base damage nerfs also hit support Annie harder than mid Annie, since the damage has been nerfed at all ranks. In a duo lane Annie won't level up as quickly, and have more time spent with lower-rank spells, whereas if the first few ranks hadn't been nerfed, support Annie wouldn't have been so affected.

    Thank goodness, Annie regained her attack range, and my Tristana and Irelia gained an awesome bonus as well. But the nerf on Kogs Ap ratio is kinda lame, I like playing him AP. But the buff on his Q's range and the armor shred being % over flat is amazing.

    Don't forget, AP Kog'Maw has an on-hit effect that deals magic damage equal to 6% (+1% per 100 AP) max health. With 28% MR shred that becomes even stronger

    Yeah, especially broken when adding a void staff.

    It's still a one person skill shot, so it wont be too broken since you still need to land the rest of your skillshots.

    That is why I would E Q then basic attack like mad. I tried it on the pbe, Ad Kog is a shreding monster. Black cleaver, Last whisper, and his Q is insane. That no mana on his w is a life saver as well.

    I'm pretty sure it will be a skillshot with that range, I think I saw in the tooltip : it damages the first enemy it hit.
