Since you're here, I figured I would try my hand at a post.
There's so many bugs that remain unresolved despite constant reporting. It feels like the general discussion forum and receives more attention for bug reports than the bug report forum itself. I can't tell if the QA team is not catching these things, not reading the forum, the bugs are too hard to resolve, or what...
First, Syndra. I have 9 page bug report thread in the forum, and not a single Riot member has responded to it. I had to chase down Meddler in other threads, in which case he said he "couldn't reproduce it." It's an extremely easy to reproduce bug and is critical to her gameplay; why was she even released with such an obvious bug? I've lost many a game simply because of it. I even provided videos of the bug in hopes it would be fixed, but many patches have gone by. He ultimately attempted a fix which didn't work, and now we're attempting another (after I spammed the thread for many days). I know the cause of the bug and the fix, but sadly, I can't do anything about it.
Now we have Elise. Elise is pretty buggy, in many ways (no pun intended). Another new champion release that comes out with issues that just weren't seen in QA? Despite my bug report post, there's been zero Riot mention of the issues and I haven't heard anything about them getting fixed.
My question is: why are champions suddenly coming out with so many bugs, and why does it seem like it takes so much effort for Riot to fix them? Do I need to make more videos, or am I posting in the wrong forum? Personally it would be my dream job at the moment to work at Riot Games, and I would be dying to fix things like this (I'm a programmer). I can't see how these things can go unfixed for so long despite the large attention I am struggling to draw to them.
I would also like to remind you that I'm the same person that made the massive bug compilation post in the past:
I made a post in the general discussion forum struggling to draw Riot to these issues as well:
At best I got a response from Riot in the main thread, which was very nice; however, a lot of these bugs to this day remain unresolved (to name a few: surrender bug, champion randomly stops walking when using move commands on the minimap, invisible skillshots, auto-attack skill inconsistencies, etc etc etc).
I am hoping that THIS post will draw more attention to the many bugs that still exist in League of Legends. I love this game, but it disappoints me that bugs on Riot's end prevent me from enjoying it to the fullest (and others as well).
EDIT: Many days later...
Seriously, this is getting out of hand.
10 pages, no post. Syndra is STILL bugged. Not even an acknowledgement.
Now we have this. This has existed since I started playing and still no acknowledgement; not even any effort taken to fix it.
And now we have... Zed. His W sometimes goes off in a random other direction. I've had this happen multiple times and I can't really make a video off a replay because you wouldn't know where my mouse was. Furthermore, I've used my ult over the wall at dragon to only appear on the wrong side of the wall. I went from Dragon to bot lane (Caitlyn directly on the other side of Dragon's wall) and it left me at Dragon... I had to waste my ultimate to swap over the wall, along with a waste of time when I realized it bugged. EDIT: Here's a video of one of Zed's multiple bugs (1 of 2 with his ultimate):
FURTHERMORE, I had glitches this patch with my particles showing boxes (not the blue boxes). Lee Sin would spawn giant green crosses and others would leave boxes with faces underneath their feet. Yi's sword was a bunch of fire squares. So I did what I should do - I ran a repair. Now, Zed's music plays during champion select, and when the game was over, it was STILL PLAYING in the end lobby. It kept playing even after I left the end lobby. I turned off music in LoL and it stopped, but then shortly after, it literally just started up again out of nowhere. When I got to champion select it re-looped and continued; I was forced to mute it in volume mixer. My friend can't even play the game properly anymore because ever since the patch, he has terrible FPS.
The bugs never end. I'm getting really aggravated over this. It's so frustrating. They didn't even fix Elise's spider bugs despite a Riot response to the post I made. They still randomly stop attacking targets when you use your Q. So many random bugs happen in games; how can I rely on any mechanic to work at all? I report them and NOTHING happens.
When will LoL ever be fixed?
EDIT: Additional keybind bug. http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/....php?t=2807447
Quote:Understandable; you are a lead content designer. It is not your job to handle QA, nor are you the cause of issues within the champions themselves.
However, you are a person of impact and general power within the development process. Even if you can't give me an answer as to why such things are happening, I would love any sort of way I can better draw attention to the bugs for Riot. I want these things fixed, but so far I feel like I'm running out of options. The disappointing part for me is it doesn't feel like a lack of resources, but rather that Riot doesn't seem to know about them.
Not quite; I understand his position, however he is the most influential person that I see I can talk to about this right now... and I am hoping that, being in that position, he would take it seriously enough to do anything he could (or at the very least, give me advice on how to better inform Riot or direct me to the proper personnel).
One possible thing is the lack of a strong technical leader in design who focuses on these things. It deepnds a lot on the context of the bug though (someone's skill being wonky is us, but something like Nunu brush invisibility, is more engineering-based). As you can imagine, it's pretty complex!
Quote:I can definitely understand if you're "out of touch" with the engineering aspect of things. It's not your job, it's complex, and it makes things more difficult for you if you have to take the time to understand the inner-workings of the system.
However, if -you- can't do anything about the situation at hand, perhaps you could redirect it to someone who can? The @ in the subject line drew you in because I knew you were around at the time, and I know that you are a person of power at Riot Games. However, if there is someone more capable to handle the problems, I would greatly appreciate it if said person(s) were here to resolve the issues (or give us a detailed, informed answer on the subject because they actually work on the subject).
The bugs are real, and I just want them resolved.
