I've been trying out various different champions on the new Twisted Treeline and one I'm finding intensely frustrating is AD carries. They seem to perform fine in fights in open areas but jungle fights, particularly around the altars, involve massive amounts of sight loss as champions move around corners, the sides of the altar, and into bushes. It is only moderately awful toward the beginning of fights because multiple targets usually allow you to switch to a less important (but still attackable target) and your frontline provides vision. However if your tank or beef die then there is no way to continue the fight without facechecking a bush against a target that typically wants you at exactly that range.
Grez's Lantern doesn't seem to be a viable item for this since (a) the short duration makes it more useful for scouting rather than being able to maintain sightlines during fights which last longer than the 10 seconds and (b) the stats you are paying for are largely not ones you want making it a very inefficient item. Grez's seems like it fills a useful niche for allowing junglers additional speed and scouting but doesn't meet the needs of ranged autoattackers. The Lightbringer isn't a great item for efficiency since it delays the IE/PD holy duo but the stats are still decent for carries and would allow players to make the choice to shift their build if they find they are struggling to see targets in altar fights.
I refrained from porting over Lightbringer because I have issues with the reveal function (same goes for Hextech Sweeper's passive). They give "dumb" vision without much associated gameplay. In general, Grez's Spectral Lantern and the new Hextech Sweeper should be at a competitive pricepoint for on-demand reveals, so if you're keen on playing AD, you should get in the habit of buying them.
Could we get 'The Lightbringer' for Twisted Treeline?
