Was playing maokai, had enough to go back for catalyst, went back and bought catalyst, the gold didn't go away, so i bought catalyst and +5 boots on my first back. It worked out pretty well for me, but i can't imagine that's your intentions
No, but I have had the shop not use recipie items I hve already purchased.
For example; I had already bought Negatron for an Abyssal, went back with enough to outright buy Abyssal without any recipie items and when I double clicked on it in the recomended items tab it purchased the entire item and I still had a Negatron cloak left over. A solid waste of 740 gp mid game sucks. This has happened twice, I now only use the buy tab to purchase from the shop.
I don't suppose you play SR, CS, or PG do you? If so, has this happened on other maps? Negatron's one of those items that we didn't touch for TT.
Just posting to say I had the same playing as Taric on SR. Had a ruby crystal, and then when I purchased a Zeke's I was left with the ruby crystal still. I suspect its something to do with having enough money to purchase the Zeke's strait up not including the ruby crystal.
Did you confirm that the Ruby Crystal actually gave you health? I've encountered a very rare issue with duplicate phantom items that disappear if you put another item over them.
