Sure it's a great tool to have in many situations, but since I have started playing her I have found a lot of situations that ruin the ability in a way that doesn't really seem to make sense. Here's a few that I can think of atm:
- Jumping over/out of Veigar's Event Horizon doesn't prevent you from being stunned. (Not sure if other abilities like Arcane Shift or Flash dodge the stun).
- Volibear's Rolling Thunder can toss you mid-jump.
- Skillshots such as Ezreal's Mystic Shot still hit you in mid air (despite them appearing to be heading under you).
These are a few that I have encountered recently and are fresh on my mind. Some of these seem more like bugs than working as intended.

It's a continuous movement ability instead of a teleport. All such abilities work this way, so intended or not, the game has been balanced around it.
I think on net it's the right decision as it creates a limited amount of counterplay and has some nuance related to it, so it should in general make the game more competitive & interesting.
