I'm RiotFpMcgee, and my team and I will be handling all of our deploys (that's when the servers come down, and come up with the new hotness!), as well as tracking down bugs that create a negative experience for our players.
I wanted to make this thread to introduce ourselves, and give you guys a chance to say hello. If we can isolate bugs with clear reproduction steps, that makes it much easier for us to identify what causes them, and makes it much easier for our engineers and developers to work on fixes.
Thank you guys for the all the reports you've made! They really help us out! Remember, there are literally hundreds of posts a day, and if you can do a quick search to see if other people are experiencing the same issue, posting in their thread helps us see what is having the biggest impact.
Thanks, and now I'll let the other members of my team introduce themselves.
Hey all! I'm Jozrael on the Live QA team, headed by our fabulous catgirl Ezreal up above. First up, a short history of my LoL journey:
Began playing back in the beta in July 2009. Anivia and Rammus had just been released!
Joined Riot as a Player Support Specialist in September 2010, and helped found the PS Tech team shortly thereafter. Miss Fortune had just introduced the Fields of Justice to Shock and Awe.
Founding member of the Network Operations Center team in March 2011, helping to keep the servers up around the clock since. Summoner's Rift had recently been blanketed in darknessssss, heralding Nocturne's approach.
Founding member of the Live QA team just this month! We'll be hacking away at our backlog of bugs and streamlining the process to help ensure your experience is protected from aggravating bugs of all shapes and sizes.
The foremost of our responsibilities is likely not going to be all that visible to you, but we'll be doing a quick looksee around the platform at the end of a maintenance to make sure that everything is shipshape. Our priority will be to take as little time as possible so you guys can get back to playing, so we'll only be checking the essentials. You're far more likely to feel our impact on the bugs that will be getting fixed around here. While we have a substantial QA team that helps protect you from various issues before they ever appear before your eyes, we'll be focusing on issues that are already plaguing you.
Feel free to give a holler if you have any questions!
For those that frequent the bug report forums Im probably not a new face to you. I've found these forums to be a great resource in gauging the impact of a bug and to find issues that I havent personally experienced. My hope is that we will be able to have constant and positive interaction here so we can further the goal of fixing broken stuff. Im going to be spinning up my twitter account so youll be able to ping me there (the little blue icon to the left links to it). For reporting issues you can see the post I wrote stuck at the top of the forums. The guide is aimed at getting the most important information to allow us to reproduce a bug and get it in front of a designer or engineer to get fixed.
Hi! I’m Icosahedron, formerly known on the forums as “MartyMcPunchman”, until a recent identity crisis. I’ve been with Riot for 2 years as of today (or at least, the Monday before Thanksgiving, 2010)! I used to be part of the Release QA team, focused on preparing the build before it goes out, and now I’m part of Live QA.
My primary area of focus is going to be on the Air client. I hate those ugly little text bugs, strange edge cases with the Friends List, and other non-descriptive error message and I’m really looking forward to cleaning them up.
If you see anything critical in the Air client and want to get my attention, feel free to contact me via Twitter, where my handle is @RiotIcosahedron. If you want to play a game, be aware I’m nowhere near the skill level of RiotFP(FancyPants)McGee, Jozrael, or Dannamoth. Low Elo Rioters do exist!
How should skin visual bugs be reported? They surely have a low impact in terms of usability but they definitely are annoying; especially as they are paid products.
The point is that minor issues like Harbinger Kassadin's wrist blade and Caitly's floating rifle clip took months to be fixed. Besides, there are some more that are still unfixed. I have a small list and most of them are as simple to reproduce as start a game and look at the skin.
Would a specific thread with screen-shots be of help? How should audio issues be reported? What about animation problems? What if making a video isn't possible for the last two? Any other options?
Thanks for your time. It was about time a true bug crushing team was assembled. Also, nice roster but you are missing one for 5v5.
On the PBE, we've found collection threads are incredibly helpful to gather lots of similar issues in one easy to find place. I think it would be very useful to create master threads, and I'll discuss with the rest of the guys if we want to sticky them or how we want to make it both easy for you to report them, and easy for us to track them.
Then again, Punchman is looking a little furry over there..
You have pictures of him??? Oh...you mean his avatar...

While that would certainly make for very specific posting locations, it would make it incredibly hard to collate the full set of them. The bug report forums, while active, aren't an insurmountable challenge to parse (and if it were, splitting it up only increases the chances of missing something). Sorry, I don't think it's a good idea, but thanks for it! Single threads grouping similar types of issues are VERY helpful, though.

Hey ahotaurs - I saw your other thread for it and moved it there to keep all the information in one place. This sounds to me like you need to submit a ticket to support.leagueoflegends.com to get individual attention from one of our technical support specialists who can help you suss out the problem - it's not very widespread, though since the symptoms are common to many types of issues you'll find a lot of players posting about seemingly unrelated bugs in your thread. Sorry for the confusion .
The active game not found bug is generally related to what we call 'ghost games', which is usually on our side and we are working at understanding what causes them better so we can stamp out additional sources that create them.
Any idea if I should go make a support ticket for my issue with the whole post-champion-select 10 minute black screen? With the main window still open, and the entire game closing down whenever the game ends, if I actually manage to make it into the game, not letting me give honor/see endgame stats?
I saw so many posts for it here on the bug report forums, and tried all the various fixes, to no avail, so.. While you're still [semi] here, should I go make a support ticket, or just wait til you guys find a general fix and patch it over?
Sorry your experiencing that Heartling, that sounds pretty lame it's not a bug i'm familiar with. Does this happen often? Or is it a short term issue that you experienced once?
If it's persistent, I'd recommend you send in a support ticket. Good luck and let us know if you continue to experience it!

Is there anything the community could do to help you guys track it down?
