I'm RiotFpMcgee, and my team and I will be handling all of our deploys (that's when the servers come down, and come up with the new hotness!), as well as tracking down bugs that create a negative experience for our players.
I wanted to make this thread to introduce ourselves, and give you guys a chance to say hello. If we can isolate bugs with clear reproduction steps, that makes it much easier for us to identify what causes them, and makes it much easier for our engineers and developers to work on fixes.
Thank you guys for the all the reports you've made! They really help us out! Remember, there are literally hundreds of posts a day, and if you can do a quick search to see if other people are experiencing the same issue, posting in their thread helps us see what is having the biggest impact.
Thanks, and now I'll let the other members of my team introduce themselves.
Hey all! I'm Jozrael on the Live QA team, headed by our fabulous catgirl Ezreal up above. First up, a short history of my LoL journey:
Began playing back in the beta in July 2009. Anivia and Rammus had just been released!
Joined Riot as a Player Support Specialist in September 2010, and helped found the PS Tech team shortly thereafter. Miss Fortune had just introduced the Fields of Justice to Shock and Awe.
Founding member of the Network Operations Center team in March 2011, helping to keep the servers up around the clock since. Summoner's Rift had recently been blanketed in darknessssss, heralding Nocturne's approach.
Founding member of the Live QA team just this month! We'll be hacking away at our backlog of bugs and streamlining the process to help ensure your experience is protected from aggravating bugs of all shapes and sizes.
The foremost of our responsibilities is likely not going to be all that visible to you, but we'll be doing a quick looksee around the platform at the end of a maintenance to make sure that everything is shipshape. Our priority will be to take as little time as possible so you guys can get back to playing, so we'll only be checking the essentials. You're far more likely to feel our impact on the bugs that will be getting fixed around here. While we have a substantial QA team that helps protect you from various issues before they ever appear before your eyes, we'll be focusing on issues that are already plaguing you.
Feel free to give a holler if you have any questions!
For those that frequent the NA bug report forums I’m probably not a new face to you (I will be spending more of my time on EUNE and EUW). I've found these forums to be a great resource in gauging the impact of a bug and to find issues that I haven’t personally experienced. My hope is that we will be able to have constant and positive interaction here so we can further the goal of fixing broken stuff. I’m going to be spinning up my twitter account so you’ll be able to ping me there (the little blue icon to the left links to it). For reporting issues you can see the post I wrote stuck at the top of the forums. The guide is aimed at getting the most important information to allow us to reproduce a bug and get it in front of a designer or engineer to get fixed.
Hi! I’m Icosahedron, formerly known on the forums as “MartyMcPunchman”, until a recent identity crisis. I’ve been with Riot for 2 years as of today (or at least, the Monday before Thanksgiving, 2010)! I used to be part of the Release QA team, focused on preparing the build before it goes out, and now I’m part of Live QA.
My primary area of focus is going to be on the Air client. I hate those ugly little text bugs, strange edge cases with the Friends List, and other non-descriptive error message and I’m really looking forward to cleaning them up.
If you see anything critical in the Air client and want to get my attention, feel free to contact me via Twitter, where my handle is @RiotIcosahedron. If you want to play a game, be aware I’m nowhere near the skill level of RiotFP(FancyPants)McGee, Jozrael, or Dannamoth. Low Elo Rioters do exist!
We know we haven't been good about communicating with you guys on this forum, and as QA, it's really important to us to make sure that we know what sucks the most for our players.
We'll do our best to let you know when we're aware of bugs. We'll also let you know when we know something is out there, but we're not sure how or why. Those are usually the issues that are really hard to track down, and any advice you can give us is really helpful.
As far as a weekly updated list, I'm not sure if that's something we'll be capable of initially. Maybe what we can do is keep track of our top 10 bugs we can't figure out how to reproduce, but are looking for more information on.
I'm sorry we haven't communicated with you as much as we both would like, but we're looking forward to changing that. Thanks for the reponse!
A list of not reproducable bugs would be really nice, letting the community participate in the process of improving the game.
An interesting idea. We'll have to think more about it, but thank you for the idea! I'm intrigued .

No worries - we'll be checking there too. Sorry that the quality of communication differs ;(. I've posted in spurts on EUW over the years as I've had time, but nothing consistent enough to be personally proud of. Since we are scheduling time for our team to cull the forums for bugs though, hopefully that has changed .
