As title states, why don't people understand this? Being the first to type in chat that you want a particular lane means absolutely nothing to me. I say this because the only truly fair way to pick in draft mode is just to pick in order and fill lanes in appropriately. Do the majority of the league community agree or disagree?
The only true way to decide roles in draft mode is to talk about who is best in what positions and coordinate next best skills in case there is a conflict so that you can have the best team composition with the players you are matched with. Calling a role is the first part of saying where you are best.
I'm playing at 1145 Elo. I have success with this in the majority of my games. If it's not working for you then it might be your attitude and word choice.
