As most of you know (If you have looked at my 2k thread) I'll be making 2 "fan service" wallpapers for the next 100 upvotes. Simply put I want to know who the community considers the most beautiful.
Part of Leona's charm is that her personality shows strength, compassion, and caring. She comes across as confident, not arrogant, humble rather than egotistical. Many of the women mentioned here are strong, yes, and did many great things, but it was with what they had been given. One of the neat things about Leona's League Judgment was that it asked the question of what might have happened if she hadn't been saved by the Sun, and the answer made it clear that her power did not define her strength. She was strong even without them, and she strives to serve everyone with that strength. To us, we feel like we know Leona is a strong woman.
Yet in the end there was no great deed, nor great feat which propels this. She did not command a celestial army, she did not attempt to overthrow the celestial order, she did not rise from near death to wield a blade without hands to slaughter noxians effortlessly, she did not go from nothing to the best bounty hunter in the world. Nowhere in her backstory does it even say she fought in a real battle. Ever. As far as we know, Leona has never killed. All she did was say no to it, even if it cost her own life.
There are many subtle details to Leona which we don't really go into, but suffice to say Leona has a pretty large fan base. She had already seen her fair share of tournament play in the Season 2 Championship playoffs, yet when she got locked in during the Finals there was a resounding chorus of "Le-o-na! Le-o-na!" cheering her on. No other champion got that treatment. To me that was a thing of beauty.
For my part, in short she's a grown woman paladin tank. She looks like a woman, not a girl. And we shouldn't overlook Leona's hair. It's lovely.
That's quite touching! That's one of the things I enjoy about certain characters, it's their "regularness". They weren't necessarily born special, but they were given moments of choice and through those choices they became exceptional. Yes, there may be supernatural aspects that intervene, but I think we connect with characters that are grounded in making human decisions, and going through relevant human experiences. Leona and Diana are on the flip side of those choices. Light side vs. dark side as it may be. They were both given a choice in confrontations, one's kind heart opened her up to the power of something greater, another's despair led her to surrender to the dark conviction that consumed her. Both chose their paths though. Both of their paths led them to become something greater through those choices.

Very kind, but quickly is better. The sooner we save LoL from them, the better. A desire to inflict pain and suffering upon our enemies is understandable, but we aren't in this to make them suffer, we are in this to protect what is good about LoL. Just kill the bears, k?
