  • What exactly is your job? Just curious, thanks
  • Quality Assurance for store features and payments. That means that I work with the teams to create new features that players can actually use and are reliable. Gifting and in-client refunds are two features that I'd been pushing for for a long time and I've been fortunate enough to see those to reality. Additionally, I'm responsible for working with the teams to keep the store and RP purchases working for you players.

I'm also what's called a Scrum Master for the Champion Relaunch team. I coordinate the team, make sure we're working on the right stuff and hitting our deadlines, and help to remove 'blockers' - or things that prevent the team from being able to work effectively. Mostly it means I put up with IronStylus talking about parrots and Leona all day.

That's not really a job, exactly.

Riot's an agile studio. Content is a little harder to do in traditional agile scrum, but the core fundamentals of agile still apply- people over process, rapid iteration, etc. Features development is done through sprints or with Kanban, whichever makes the most sense for the team.

I'm a strong believer that if you take the time to coach people and teams, the quality of the product they create will go up.

For store features, I've done some coding here and there. A lot of the more subtle interactions with the champion/skin 'cards' in the store are my doing, the updated purchase history page, and some other small quality improvements. Mostly I leave the coding that players see to people who do it professionally- they're a talented team.
