(Sorry for not including "abilities" after champions. Too late to fix it now :/ )
Cass's noxious blast, Zyra's plants (bulb portion) and vayne's tumble all act as if on smart cast when smart cast indicators are on (spells cast on key press, not key release) . I realize that all three of these spells (and there may be more, I've only used the indicator it recently) need to be used on the fly, but I don't feel like this would be intentional.
I don't know if its a bug or not, but when things like this are inconsistent it makes for incredibly frustrating gameplay.
If it is intended, maybe you could add smart cast indicators to the list of keybindings so we have more control over how we use our spells : /?
