Crests of Honor are calculated based on a wide variety of metrics.
To give some examples:
1) Who is Honoring you? Honor from strangers you have never played before are worth more than Honor from premade friends.
2) How consistently do you get Honor? The Honor Initiative calculates only the games you have played since Honor launched to determine your average Honors per game.
3) What kinds of Honor are you getting? Different Crests of Honor actually require different combinations of Honor.
No one that starts now is going to get badges anymore. People don't care about the honor system and therefore none is given out now. When it first started everyone was excited about it and it was new, now, not so much. Therefore no more badges.
This is untrue, players are still unlocking Crests even if they've only started playing during the holidays. We'll actually be doing some adjustments to Crests of Honor and the requirements to unlock them now that we've seen the system stabilize and better understand how the community is distributing Honor.
Without revealing too much, we'll be making Crests of Honor - Honorable Opponent a bit harder to unlock; however, we'll be making Crests of Honor - Mentor, Great Leader and Great Teammate a bit easier to unlock.
