  • I want to clear a few things up.

There are winners from NA and EU that were selected and prized independently. Both are displayed in the voting app because we thought it would be nice to let people from all over the world see each other's entries. The grand prize winners are shown in the voting area as well, but they did not bump any Community Choice entries. There will be 5 Community Choice entries selected for both NA and EU by taking the top 5 voted entries from each region.

It is also important to note that the contest rules for EU, although similar, were not the same as NA as there are a number of countries that do not share the same gingerbread custom as we do here in the United States and Canada.

As for the voting app itself, we made a number of changes based on feedback from the last contest. Voting is now blind and randomized. Every voter should be presented with the same 60 options, but the order in which they are presented is random to prevent certain entries from getting more votes simply because they are listed at the top of the page.

As for sorting of entries, we do in fact go thru every single submission. We are sticklers on the rules and failure to follow them results in a automatic DQ, regardless of the quality or effort that went into an entry.
  • As you guys already know, judging these contests is difficult. There are so many amazing entries, the hardest part is narrowing it down to the finalists. I really do wish there was a way to give everyone a prize based on the number of hours spent.

We are always open to feedback and are constantly striving to ensure that we grow and improve with each new contest.

Also, if you are sticklers with the rules, how does this follow the rules? There are no gingerbread, graham crackers, or Christmas cookies visible, yet won.

The 3 tree cookies qualify as Christmas Tree Cookies.

You should be seeing all the entries at once. Can you send a screenshot of what you are seeing?

Not really the same as making a gingerbread house or a giant Blitz out of pure gingerbread, as I recall seeing posted. I am disappointed.
Fondant is not disallowed by the rules.
  • Ok, we have removed all the grand prize winners from the voting app.

It has also been brought to my attention that we have chosen more than 20 from both EU and NA for Community Choice voting, hence the 58 entries viewable in the woobox app.

My post here quotes some of the more pertinent points that we thought the contest would be judged on. Thanks, and hope it helps to understand where we are coming from.
I think that we will need to make is more visible which entries are NA and which ones are EU for future judging if we decide to combine community choice entries in the future. Thanks for the feedback.
  • My long-term goal is to make contests that people feel good about entering and have a good time building their entries.

I understand that these announcement threads tend to become negative based on the fact the not everyone can win a contest, but when you guys provide feedback we really do listen. For example, maybe next-time we do a food contest we don't allow use of fondant and we use a standard photo submission tool like instagram.

This contest had 1,200 entries across NA and EU and we had to narrow it down to 60 winners. Obviously having 1,140 people not win sucks, but I am not sure how to modify our contests so that we can have more winners, without basically making it into a sweepstakes where people are doing the bare minimum to get a prize.

    Keep the input flowing.

You are saying, we are not blame, we are not this, we are not that. How about owning up some responsibility and apologizing? This is really bad customer service, blaming the customer.

We are insulted, come on the carbon copy teemos both made it in? If more than one customer is saying there is something wrong, maybe there is something wrong and it's not your customers. Are you for real? I for one am going to keep going, Pickle Pet's already done a better job than you guys at making us feel at ease. He didn't say it was our fault, he said I have an idea guys and he implemented it. Our 'negativity' is your feedback, so maybe you shouldn't complain about it and then ask for our feedback.
You absolutely have the right to be upset and I never meant to give the impression that it was your fault.

To add to the clarification that I gave earlier, the two Teemo entries that keep getting brought up and both entries are from EU and did not bump and NA entries.
