There is a whole lot of fuss about updating the splash arts for nidalee and annie so that they are all new. Riot made it clear that they will deliver on this, as they had done with ashe, katarina, soraka, and tf (for the most part, other skins were switched to chinese).
So what about all the champs that had remodels prior to ashe? And by ALL i mean just trynd, janna, kayle, and gp. I particularly want to focus and trynd and kayle, and sort of GP. Would you guys consider updating some of Kayle's old skin splash arts, as well as highland tryndamere and perhaps sailor and minuteman GP? Actually, GP's sailor model is awful, but that's another subject i guess.
I love that the reworks keep getting more and more effort put in, but I feel like it's unfair to leave the older ones untouched in terms of splash art. I actually think for many of these, corners can be cut. I think all of Kayle's old skin splash art (unmasked, silver, and viridian) can be changed to chinese art, For trynd you could take the chinese art and touch it up a bit by removing that black stuff on the left and adding some scenary instead. As for the gp skins it might need an effort from your own artists.
Anyways, as I said, I just think that the current state of those splash arts just gives the impression that they will always remain lousy because Riot has already done their updates on those champions and moved on.
We're pretty much redoing all the splash. There's a big effort to bring things up to quality and consistency.
For reworks however, this can be a massive task. With Annie that's a LOT of splash art, which takes quite a bit of time considering how detailed it is. It's a massive undertaking and isn't always feasible right up front. It does take time, we're seeing how long it takes with cases like Nidalee and Annie. We'll get there, it's just going to take some time to run through the entire backlog.
Quote:Shadow Evelynn is hands down the worst splash art in the game. IronStylus go tell Katie to fix it.
Evelynn needs some love aside from just a splash.
