"Damage to champions" stat really shows the truth about the game now

  • Since this has been shown I have seen a lot of surprising stats relating to it.

Singed does more damage than AP carries with pretty much RoA and maybe Llandrys being his only offense built all game. Even in shorter games this is true, I can attest to this one because I play a lot of Singed and keep a close eye on the damage I do. Even as a Singed player I don't feel this champion is very fair and everyone says his weakness is early game but nobody realizes that flask+potions eliminate that even against most counters.

AD carries rarely ever do the most damage in my games unless they totally dominate their lanes and snowball hard (which only happens when the game is horribly one-sided anyway). I thought the point of having an ADC is having a reliable damage source from range for late game as insurance but really what you have is a soft target for unstoppable bruisers like Garen and Olaf. I'm not saying they shouldn't be targeted by bruisers since that is the way of things but I do think they should do more damage than them with full damage builds.

Bruisers almost always have the highest or very close second highest on team despite having far more defensive build than offense. They also get plenty of survivability from their kits so the trade off doesn't seem to be there.

You see people who have a ton of kills but have very low damage to champs meaning all they did was KS the whole time. I usually see this when we have full tank Garen in post game boasting about his great K/D ratio and blaming his team for the loss after ulting every enemy his adc was going to kill. What really happened is he funneled all the gold from kills that could have fed the team into someone not being very useful at all.

Just a few thoughts and personal opinions, what are GD thoughts?
  • Hooray! Fun stats are fun.

While I certainly haven't done any sort of quantitative analysis on DtC, my intuition would point to a few key inclinations:

    1. ADCs come into their own late game, if late game ever happens. If you end the game before the 30 minute mark, you'll likely see a low ADC DtC stat.
    2. ADCs are generally the hardest class to optimize (except perhaps support), due to the additional mechanical strain of positioning while normally being squishy. So this would mean that when you look at stats for games outside of the pro leagues, you'll likely see ADCs less well optimized than the rest of the archetypes relatively speaking.

    But these are just guesses.
