I'm so tired of seeing "WHO WILL RISE?" Personally, I don't give a good goddamn. Or, better yet, why don't you let me WATCH and see who will rise? I probably spent just as much time spectating, as I did actually playing. Not getting to spectate pro games is really is cutting down on my enjoyment as of late.
I watch streamers on occasion, when I'm in the mood for it. Seeing the point of view of one single person doesn't really teach you much when trying to pick up on one specific champ, though. Most streamers just ping-pong around between different champs constantly, while spectating actually lets you see the game from the point of view of all champs in the game. It's much more helpful when trying to see how good players are building certain champs, and what kinds of plays they're making with them.
EDIT: I stand corrected, I 'did' actually get a red post in here. Only problem, is the provided solution wasn't even close to the point I was trying to get across.
EDIT 2: Our voice was heard, and Riot listened. Go forth and enjoy the spectate feature.
Quote:All i've seen you do is post that one link without an explanation of WHY WE CAN'T SPECTATE HIGH ELO GAMES.
We're super excited about Season 3 and the LCS. Sorry that the Spectate Games feature disappeared as a result of that - it'll come back.
Quote:There should be an option in the game client (and it can be a small button on the main screen when there's an overlay like the Season 3 "Who Will Rise?") which can de-activate the screen, putting people back to the main screen as if there weren't anything like that at all.
Or something in the "Settings" option to opt-out of any screen overlay like that.
It can't be that hard to fix or implement, and in the long run will benefit players, as i am tired as well of seeing what i would consider "pointless" overlays. It's just writing for a click-able button on the screen to return to what i would call the "main menu", whereas the Season 3 "Who Will Rise?" screen would be an alternate On-Load screen.
Edit: I could be wrong in how much work it would take, but it doesn't seem like it would be much. And it'd be easy to iron out any bugs in the PVE because as it loads up the game, it automatically loads the "alternate screen" which would then have a button to take you back to the "main screen" of Spectator, Sales, etc. There could also be a button on the main screen to reverse it, if you ever wanted to gain access to the link from the overlay (say a tournament stream or something for ease of access).
Guys, I didn't come in here to get you guys mad, I just tried to offer an alternative. Since I don't actually work on the feature itself, I'm not sure when it'll come back but I'll make sure to find out when I get to work tomorrow.
