Relatively new player here, question/thoughts on reporting players' behaviors.

  • My experience on LoL has been mostly frustrated, as a player who's learning a game with such a steep learning curve, I try to be nicer and more genuine. Trying to break up fights between teammates even I am not part of it, never talk bad towards teammates for doing something wrong, guiding and sharing tips, etc etc, but I am rarely met with the same attitude.

The most frustrated of it, however, are the people who tell others that they do not care about being reported because nothing ever happens to them, or they have multiple accounts, then simply leave the game.

This Amumu user, for example failed to notify me on a bot lane gank and died, he simply said gg and gone afk, stating he is not afraid of being reported. Example like this is so discouraging to be nice sometimes and it destroys team's morale, feels like I am hardly making a difference here while punishment seems like a joke to a lot of players.

So I just want to get in touch with the forum here and see what everyone else would do?
  • Something I want to add is that toxic players actually do care when they are banned. At the end of the day, they still lose an investment of their time and that matters.

They might say, "I don't care I have 5 accounts!" but that's really just a bluff. We wouldn't have as many players complaining about their bans and asking for second chances if they really didn't care. In many cases, I've noticed players try these "I don't care" tactics to try to dissuade players from reporting them--don't fall for it. Mute them, report them, and enjoy your games knowing that they'll be dealt with.

Right, we've talked about the lack of feedback in the reporting system in the past. It's not something we have prioritized yet, but it's a known weakness in the system. In fact, many of the player behavior systems had poor feedback loops which is why we introduced the Reform Cards and Justice Reviews to help shed more light on the Tribunal.

Not sure how you calculated a year for Justice Reviews and Reform Cards--those were also not the only things the player behavior team worked on.
