I went 9/1 in my placements are was put into Gold V. Dear lord are these people I play with terrible. It feels like all the people who just got carried to Gold V are on both teams, with a mix of people who just don't care since they cannot drop down.
Not really. It seems to just say, "Oh you're in Gold III. That must mean you're between 1400-1500" (made up numbers) and adds your League Points to that.
Even if that's not the exact system they use, they don't have access to the internal MMR, so they can't actually show it. Community sites can infer it, and they may be close or maybe not.
Why aren't win rates made public? What is there to hide?

Basically that.
People were using public statistics incredibly stupidly. Anything less than 30 games is not a reliable sample, so going up to someone and saying, "Yo dawg, you're 0-2 in games as Nunu, don't pick that champion" is stupid.
You know who else went 0-2? Dignitas. Pretty sure they're actually amazing and proved it over their next several games.
Dear god, V Divisions are Hell
Anyone else experiencing this in V's?
Your being in Gold V only indirectly influences the players you're playing with.
