Jungle Tier List - Vi Era

Please actually read the first paragraphs to understand how the ranking system currently works. Tier 3 and 4 are not bad tiers. Stop panicking and getting butthurt.

Alright before people go full idiot mode like last time - this is STILL NOT a full tier list. I still have yet to fully flush out things or test out certain ideas I have - mainly if offensive murder junglers are a very strong choice alongside the usual tanky support.

With that said - the tier list is only stacked from top to bottom and not left to right. This means the junglers in tier 1 are all held in the same pool of strength because it has yet to be refined completely. So if Dr. Mundo and Nocturne are in the same tier but Dr. Mundo is higher - it doesn't mean I'm saying he's a better jungler.

Now a very important thing that people seemed to miss last time - just because a jungler is in tier 4 doesn't mean it is bad. Tier 4 is only as "good" or "bad" as the requirements to being placed there. In this iteration of the tier list, tier 1 is seen as the best but tier 2 is very close to tier 1. Tier 2 would, if using the old standards, be the lower end of Tier 1. That makes Tier 3 essentially a "Tier 2" by old tier standards. The reasoning for this is simply for organizational reasons. A lot of the junglers that occupied tier 3 in Season 2 have yet to be tried seeing as a lot of them were gimmicky junglers. PLEASE do not ask "what about X champion?" because, as I already stated, not everyone was given a thorough look.

Tier 1 - Dr. Mundo, Lee Sin, Olaf, Amumu, Skarner, Maokai, Trundle, Vi, Diana

Tier 2 - Nocturne, Nunu, Cho Gath, Jax, Jarvan, Xin Zhao, Shaco, Malphite

Tier 3 - Elise, Tryndamere, Nautilus, Shyvana, Udyr, Fiddlesticks, Rengar, Zed, Kha Zix

Tier 4 - Gangplank, Hecarim, Warwick, Darius, Sejuani, Rammus, Riven, Shen, Alistar

Tier 5 - Volibear, Master Yi, Wukong, Cassiopeia, Malzahar, Karthus, Singed

----

And just to calm down people who can't read the first few paragraphs. If I was to put them using the ORGANIZATIONAL standards that I used before the jungle changes - it would look like this. Look how clustered up the tiers are! Even if I only raise each tier by half they'd still be oversaturated. I may eventually have to have more than just 5 tiers because of how many champions exist. I don't understand why people become so butthurt over having a champion in a different number even if it was stated THAT IT DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING BAD!

Tier 1 - Dr. Mundo, Lee Sin, Olaf, Amumu, Skarner, Maokai, Trundle, Vi, DianaNocturne, Nunu, Cho Gath, Jax, Jarvan, Xin Zhao, Shaco, Malphite

Tier 2 - Elise, Tryndamere, Nautilus, Shyvana, Udyr, Fiddlesticks, Rengar, Zed, Kha Zix, Gangplank, Hecarim, Warwick, Darius, Sejuani, Rammus, Riven, Shen, Alistar

Tier 3 - Volibear, Master Yi, Wukong, Cassiopeia, Malzahar, Karthus, Singed

There are seventeen champions in Tier 1 alone. Someone is going to have to be lowered and not everyone is going to happy. Instead of fanboying for your champion - listen to to my explanations and why I think a certain way. Instead of accusing me of playing favorites - why not realize that if that was the case I'd have Trundle, Jarvan, Darius and Wukong high. Instead of making the idiot statement that I think Hecarim is bad - realize that I've gone out to say that Hecarim is one of the most badass champions in the game and uploaded a spree of his games because of how fun it was using him.

Before anyone says "Why not just put less in Tier 1?" well that's a problem because then there would be too many in Tier 2. If I want to put less in Tier 2 then there will be too many in Tier 3. It worked in Season 2 but that was because it was far too easy to separate the junglers back then. It isn't so easy now and players will have to accept that there may be multiple tiers for organizational reasons and they need to understand what each tier means. Tier 4 may end up meaning those junglers are still very viable.

Man there are tons of champions to talk about that I can't possibly cover them all without my brain exploding. The video will cover most of them in a quick manner so please watch that. I will only cover a few champions below - and I do mean a few.

Lee Sin - He's currently a contender for the top of tier 1. I may have sold him off as being weaker early on but he's as strong as ever. His early clearing may be choppier but his dueling is still amongst the best and there are tons more items to make his multiple roles easier to do. He has an easier time becoming an assassin, he has more support options and he's a very strong wriggles champion.

Items - The video will cover this extensively but there is now what I will call "The Jungler's Armory" which vastly impacted the game. This is the biggest impact to the game that people just aren't paying attention to.

Trundle - This one is an interesting one. A lot of people will say I'm just playing favorites but it isn't so. Trundle excels at fighting vs teams with only one tank and right now, thanks to the new items, you aren't seeing as many tanks as before. Top laners are now just grabbing damage (black cleaver) and making themselves murder machines. Even some teams end up just having a bruiser jungler without a full focus on tankiness. This is where Trundle excels - he destroys one tank teams.

Zed - Yeah you have the new items to thank for this mostly. He's basically a Talon from the jungle. He's super fast and farms ridiculously albeit having pretty shoddy ganks. Again just think of him as Jungle Talon.

Vi - Man is she a killing machine. She's relatively fast and ends up just wiping out camps like nothing later on. Her ganking is sketchy early but then it becomes insanely powerful once she obtains her ultimate. She's a powerful jungle duelist (though I've seen her suck at dueling at top lane) and has a lot of trips for ambushing and escape.

Her kit provides a lot of "free" stats and it gives her flexibility with her build. Hell she might even be broken in some cases. I still haven't figured what works best with her but she deals insane amounts of damage with most basic items. She packs mobility, strong offense, moderate defense, a lot of damage and an strong jungle all into one.
