Tier Explanations

Tier 1 - These champions are at the top of this list for a lot of reasons. The biggest reason being you can actually carry a team with them. In League of Legends its very hard to be a "true" carry as this game if very team oriented. If you've ever played a 4v5 you'll know what I am talking about as it's literally impossible to win when you're down a man. So I find these champions in Tier 1 lane very well in terms of being able to kill creeps well, harassing the enemy champion, and survivability. They also add a lot of utility  For the junglers in tier 1 it's because they control the jungle well, do it safel, gank well, and if they get fed can actually carry games themselves. All these champions are have great early games for the most part and just continuously get stronger as the game goes on. These are the pub stomp kings of the game in my eyes currently.

Tier 2 - These champions like tier 1 champions are great laners, and are great to have on your team in Solo Queue. They just don't carry as hard as other champions in tier 1 I find. Their early game laning power can be almost equal to the strength of tier 1 champions but I find the tier 2 champions to be slightly weaker than these tier 1 champions in terms of how hard you can carry a solo queue game with them. They are still the cream of the crop in Solo Queue and shouldn't be underestimated.

Tier 3 - These champions I find to be great 3rd, 4th, or 5th picks on a team. They are 100% viable but these champions generally aren't as strong in lane as tier 1 and tier 2 champions. A lot of them in this tier can stand toe to toe to a lot of tier 1 and 2 champions but I find they just aren't sought after as "great" Solo Queue champions. These champs are all 100% viable in solo queue. I just find them to be slightly weaker than tier 2 champions in Solo Queue.

Tier 4 - Now tier 4 is a tricky tier I find. These champs are all 100% viable for Solo Queue. If someone says they play a great X champion in tier 4 than you can let them solo or play that champion. These champions are simply tier 4 because they require a lot more farm I find then other champions to reach that "carry status" in Solo Queue. These champions are usually played by people who love these champions for their design and play style so usually people who play these champions I find aren't bad players at all so letting them play these champions sometime is a good choice. These champions problem isn't poor laning or really anything other than they require a lot more effort to be good at and a lot more skill to do well on is all. They're all fun champions and I suggest you give them a whirl and try them out.

Eve Tier  - Eve is just the worst champion in the game and she pales in comparison to any other champion in the game. If you pick Eve you're not doing your team a favor in fact you'll most likely lose because Riot purposely nerfed her into the ground because her kit was too hard to balance. It's not that I hate the champion it's just the fact that Riot intended to nerf her so hard that people would be reluctant to play her anymore. Maybe we'll see a Eve remake in the future but for now she's a danger to pick if you want to win.

DISCLAIMER! - Now remember everyone. This is just an OPINION and nothing else. Take it with a grain of salt and remember not to flame anyone in-game over me or my lists. If you like to theorycraft I encourage it but never take my opinion out on someone else because they don't pick accordingly to the list. It's pointless, annoying, and if you do you're a bad human being. All champions except for Eve are completely viable for solo queue so relax and have some fun, it's what the games about.

SOLO QUEUE ADVICE - Always remember to build a balanced team that is strong in all 5 aspects of the game. Get two strong solo's, a strong duo lane, and a strong jungler and your chances of winning will increase drastically! If you're not 1st or 2nd pick please pick accordingly to the rest of your team. Communication in pregame chat is the key to success! If you have an AD and an AP carry then the remaining roles of Tank, Support, and Jungle need to be filled! It's the best way to become a great League of Legends player by having a well-rounded group of champions you can play! Master all aspects of the game and not just one!

Message for the Community - So I find this list MUCH harder to put champions into tiers without being a bit biased. This is a new list so it will most likely be a little inaccurate to start off with so bear with me while I perfect it. So this is what I am going to ask of the community. If you have a suggestion on a champion placement please structure it in a respectful and logical way. Posts like "I owned with Tryn like 22-0 last game he should be higher! You're dumb as **** Elementz" Will simply be ignored as you're not helping make this list better.

    Love the lists!

This bugs me EVERY TIME, however:  In your description of T1 you blatantly misuse the term literally...

"If you've ever played a 4v5 you'll know what I am talking about as it's literally impossible to win when you're down a man."  <-- the fact is it is explicitly not literally impossible to win when you are down a man.  It can be done, which means it is literally possible.  "It is incredibly difficult" would be more accurate :)

Honestly not being a troll here, just trying to help out!

Note: It *is* literally impossible to win with a Rengar on your team.

movement quints and its GG for her. if you are half decent at all the movement quints will allow you to keep away from harass and because she has such long cool downs, basically render her useless. Don't rage cause you play a meh champ

    LOL great counter argument.

swain rumble vlad and ken counters just about anyone top, but idk about riven. also kayle may be a good counter for him as well
  • #65 PotatoFrenzy

That explains all the Ezreals, Corkis, and Graves I see as ADC in high ELO

  • #66 Waaargh

Graves been popular for a long time, and all the better players I've met have sworn towards Corki.

  • #68 Gameguy301

    pretty much

graves has been great pretty much since release, he had been "OP status" for a while but i think riot has carved a good balance as of late and is now the defacto must have pick, his popularity is outrageous.

the new essance flux build from china has made its way to the top level of play creating a surge of ezreal popularity as he counters the grand majority of AD carries in lane with his attackspeed slow.

corki has been "great but not the best" for over a year now, however he is a good match for graves, and one of the few people who can stand up to the new ezreal thanks to his Q, E, R he has plenty to do when his auto attacks get slowed. the enourmous popularity of the other two has pushed him to the top of the pick charts as the "safe" pick against the two giants.

kog maw is still pretty popular thanks to his extreme DPS, poke, and range but make sure you pick him up AFTER the enemy has already picked cause if they grab EZ your going to have a miserable time.

sivir is on her way up, MTW.NA and azubu blaze run her from time to time, and riot has been talking about bumping her attack range.

ashe has been the "carry with slows and a stun" since beta, her popularity fluctuates but shes always considered "good" however carries with strong burst ala corki, graves, ezreal give her a hell of a time in lane so her popularity has fallen.

the "BIG 3" all share a dash, a DPS steroid, and multiple nukes.

    cool

I've noticed you moved Xin up to the bottom of tier 1. I almost feel that's too low considering how consistently he facerolls everything nowadays.

  • #59 sunstripe

    Malphite tier 4?

  • #58 Mockstar

Not yet 30, so I can't speak as to ranked, which is what this tier list is really for, but it can also be used loosely for normals, so I'll share my two cents.

TF I absolutely agree with, I've been maining him as I level. Easily carries the game. Since mid is the most skill dependant lane, as you don't have a partner to save you, he can out poke his opponent, force a recall, then gank a side lane.

Yorick, however, as I understood it, fell off hard late game. His only real use being to ult the carry for the bonus damage and temporary rez.

While leveling, I feel that Alistar is number one. If you have one half-decent carry player on your team, pick Alistar and its a free win. To the point that I usually try to get alistar 3v2ed in lane, so he has more trouble feeding his carry free kills. I'd be interested to hear thoughts on him in ranked.

Alright so I know I'm not the elo that Elementz is, but Twitch and Akali should be higher.  Snowballing Akali is free elo.  I'm at like 80% win rate with Akali.  Twitch can even outdamage Vayne and Kog with 6 items... combine that with stealth and a slow and you are one of the few AD's that can gank effectively... which is why Akali and Twitch are so good in solo queue, you can gank all day with Akali and Twitch.

  • #64 iWhiteRose

akali isn't a very good mid in the first place. She loses the lane from the start in farm and range. Yes i know she can snowball really fast, but its quite easy to shut her down and frankly, if you're getting the kills, your ad carry isn't. Akali's late game is meh so i can understand why she's there. I used to think she's good at getting elo but after a while, I realised she's good to get kills, not win. I play akali too and maybe I'm not a very good player but every time i can get kills no prob, but winning is a different story. They just buy oracles and CC me to death. My team can't do anything cus they aren't fat enough. Twitch I would agree deserves to be a little higher but after the remake I don't think he does his job as a PROPER AD carry, especially in the late game now. Before, he could just ult and kills the entire team, now his ult is sorta like ezreal. And maybe at Elementz elo, its more about farm and people actually ward.

  • #52 MICHAEL419

Darius not in tier one? That is as free win top lane as it gets. And even if you somehow lose you can be underleved and still get a triple kill in a teamfight. Not to mention he has the highest base health at level 10 in the game. Higher than any tank. Dumbest design of any champ=was made for solo queue

  • #53 acerunner
Riot is happy with Darius' balance. He is extremely balanced. Easily countered, no sustain. Strong doesn't mean broken.
  • #54 MICHAEL419

Easily countered? I have never seen a Darius lose a lane. Not one single time

  • #55 acerunner
Look I'm not trying to insult, but if you haven't seen someone beat Darius in lane then you aren't playing with good players, or players who don't read guides online, because there are plenty of resources on line to help new players counter pick. Any type of ranged sustain beats him. Also champions with Shields out trade him. Great choices against Darius include but are not limited to: Vlad, kennen, rumble, swain, jarvin, and riven. I hope you try some of these out!
