  • posted a message on So what is the counterplay on riven?

I think jax is the best pick vs her now. She can't trade with you early if you use counter strike properly, you outscaleher super hard, and you also get shitloads of armor if you stack some ad items against her. With 23 ad at level six from runes and masteries with hopefully around 25 ad from the items you have you will get 48 armor from your ulty at level six which makes it so that she can't really win all ins unless you misplay terribly.

Trundle is also a good counter. All in her at level 1 then snowball your way to victory. I literally cannot remember the last game were I played trundle vs riven were I didn't get first blood. If you get some early armor and life steal the. She struggles to lane vs you though you have to be pretty patient vs a good riven player.

I really like trundle vs riven. Trundle can abuse riven on level 1 when she tries to all in you often winning trades super hard while winning duels even harder. If you rush armor then you can beat her at level 6 super easy also, but I usually aim to get first blood by about 2:05-2:35 then snowball from there. You also outscale her in 1v1's as long as you get a thornmail at some point.

Top: Fiora*, Vladimir, Quinn*, Heimerdinger*, Jayce*, Tryndamere
Mid: Azir, Malzahar, Lissandra*, Syndra, Yasuo, Karthus, Anivia, Vel'koz*, Brand*

    ADC: Miss Fortune, Ezreal*, Tristana

    Jungle: Zac*, Diana*, Nautilus

    Support: Nami, Zyra*

*= indicates ability to play another role

Reasoning: Almost all of these champions either have exceptionally good DPS or damage over time at 6 items, or their utility scales well with support items and AP. Burst champions can be included if they have a form of sustained DPS (for example, Syndra's Q has a decently low cooldown, allowing her to press Q a lot from a safe distance, but Leblanc can't be counted because her burst, while superior overall, can only affect one target, and she does not have any sustained DPS whatsoever).

I mean fiora is good if the enemy doesnt have a champ like kayle or ali to shut her down. Or Zonyas. Quinn is to squishy and short range and hiemerdinger is super weak to poke comps or pick off teams which are super common. Jayce is good vs comps wihtout hard engage or counter poke, but he still isnt ridiculous. Trynd is ridiculous.

Mid is home to a whole bunch of ridiculous scalers. I think that azir is pretty silly late, but malz and liss are super vulnerable to quicksilver. Velkoz is super weak to hard engage as is syndra though to a lesser extent. Karthus is super weak to poke teams or champs that can blow him up fro ma distance like vieg or syndra. I think yasuo is only good with a team that can reliable knockup enemy champions.

Your adc list is something else. Miss fortune has some of the worst scaling. She cant buy a reliable form of penetration, She has zero escapes, And her steroids suck. Ezreal can poke decently from a range, but his dps is abysmal. Trist is ridiculous i agree.

I gotta say I dont know why you thought nami was super good late game, but id like to hear it. I think Zyra is super good late also. I think janna is def comparable though with her fully stacked mejias and super good ap ratios.

    1. Start weightlifting. The harder and heavier the lifts that you exercise the more manly your results will be. E.G. Deadlifts >curls another example Free Weights > Machines

    2. Grow a beard. This doesn't mean getting a complete crazy looking beard but even a short beard thats well trimmed goes a long way towards being more manly. I used to be called 13-16 all the time, but since i got a beard im now usually guessed to be around 22-25.(Im 19)

    3. Be assertive with your what you want and your feelings. This will get you a reasonable amount of haters, but it will earn you respect which is a manly thing to have

    4. Be confident in yourself and what you can do. If you believe in yourself completely then almost anything is possible. Girls also love a guy who's confident and can take the drivers seat at times from my experience.

    5. Learn to deal with your emotions in a mature way. This means being able to keep them in check when they will cause chaos and destruction rather than order and peace. This is one of the most essential steps of growing up in general which maturity ~ manliness.

    6. Be driven/hard working. This just means being able to do hard and tedious things so that you can better yourself.

    7. Be resilient. This just means that you can stay calm and level headed in stressful situations while also knowing how to handle bad circumstances maturely.

I would say that just about covers the whole being manly thing. I know a lot of people who hate the term manly simply because of what its associated with. I personally like the usage the term though it can be misused.

    Cool Beans

I would really like it it they had less unit collision in the game also. I think that shitty auto pathing and having to run at an enemy in an arc rather than striaght at them later on in the game really hurts gap closer less champions like olaf or trundle who really suck in todays meta/mobility creep. If riot thinks that these mechanics are a good form of counter play then i call bullshit since yu cant control auto pathing. I cant even tell you how many times ive died thanks to my character spazzing out while trying to pass around some minions instead of just walking past them. Its already hard enough to find the moment where a tristana doesnt have her ult, jump,  and heal or a janna without her her slow, tornado, spellthiefs slow thing, exhaust, or ulty. I mean they get so many chances so why should I, as a gapcloser less bruiser like udyr, be even more powerless before them, but i digress.

I think that putting it on a boot enchantment would really alleviate this issue.

Id like for riot to implement all of the changes they intend to go through with in the preseason. Ryze is getting gutted with the q nerffs and the new Dorans shield. It will make his combo do 20+20+8*3 less damage on level 3. 64 less damage is going to completely destroy him if it's so damn early in the game.. I'm really liking the nerfing of early game jungles so that I can quit getting camped by lee sin and Khazix. Honestly these new changes in pbe are just amazing imo. I hate that counterjungling is so hard to do atm making it so that amumu and rammus have such high win ratios.

riots fixing ing almost everything I hate about the game So I'm super ecstatic. I also really like to split push which is ridiculously difficult to do atm. the new elixars and faucets for vision will make it easier for me to stay in a side lane. WOOHOO!

There is much talk of "soft skills" nowadays, either when it's concerning workplace or this game. Well, this is very catchy term, because everyone wants to get results using these soft, plushy techniques (soft means easier, doesn't it?). There is even a mention of the "Dick Sucking Techinque". People like extreme opinions, so it's fashionable. What I want to say is that people expect to rise above their skill by being nice, by pinging drake, by encouraging others. Nothing wrong with that, but it can be a false premise for many people. Well, humans become extremely motivated when they get to know that they are all around great people, but just this one little pesky thing made their life or work ineffective. So we get people reading self-help books on various topics. They may think that cold showers or intermittent fasting will make them gods... But enough of this rant. Without skill there will be no rise in rank. This hard truth is so sweet to be forgotten. But there is a cruel reality.

Unless you win your lanes, you will not rise in any timely manner. You can be the sweetest player in the world, but if you usually go even in every lane and never disconnect, it will still take you hundreds of games to rise to where you want to be.

Sometimes it is necessary to ditch your favourite, overnerfed champions and concentrate on something that can make plays, that can make opponents cry, rage or disconnect. Destroying and demoralizing enemy is the most important thing here. But it's hard work to get enough skill to do that. Don't be tempted to try "the tricks".

Forcing the enemy on tilt is an incredibly powerful tactic. Getting a really early first blood, stealing an enemys buff then killing them on their first clear, smite stealing drag or baron, etc. These types of plays can get a whole enemy team so riled up they start to rage at each other. Its the teemo effect imo. Even though teemo has zero ways to carry a game he has a high win ratio just because hes so frustrating to play against which throws the enemy tp laner/jungler on tilt leading to bad decisions and making the enemy top laner worse than he is under different circumstances.

Sometimes ill spam dance after Ive dived someone under their turret to try and provoke this effect.

A sure fire way to do so is simply play champs with really high win ratios in silver. In your case that would be junglers like amumu or ww, and mid/tops like fiora and galio, supports like sona, leona, blitz, and adcs like miss fortune and jinx. If you play enough games like say a 100 with someone like amumuand you perform like an average player in every respect then youll have 55 wins and 45 losses. thats about two divisions(silver 3-1 or something) do this enough and youll get out of silver. It probably wont be fun though

Maining a single role is also an easy way to move up the ladder since if you face an opponent like yourself who has no main role you will most likely smash them in lane through sheer experience. In your scneario its rare to have competent supports or adcs in silver so just maining bot lane would likely catapult you to gold

Jungle and Mid are the way too go. Maining bot lane is a headache, too reliant on the other laner. I honestly tried really hard to only play ADC to gold, but you are too reliant on the support to be on the same page as you. Other way around as well, if your ADC is terrible when you are supporting you will get nowhere.

Thats the beauty of playing support. You can roam around the map and make a variety of plays from vision control, to ganks, to baits, to buff steals, etc. I cant tell you how many times i was about to dive my enemy top laner when thresh or janna show up all of the sudden then i die from exhaust and cc. That type of play is not only incredibly demoralizing for me, but it also allows you to establish vision control of baron or a buff to help your jungler. I mean you dont need an adc to win as a support. You just need to know how to roam and establish a snowball for any of your teammates.

If your an adc then your very reliant on your support to get you through lane if you play weak laners like vayne, but if you play adcs like corki or lucian you dont have to deal with that. I think adcs still a lot harder to carry from then support though.
