    Karma/nami/leona/janna (pokeMageSup/hybrid/all in/peel)

Annie aint a bad sup but i would never brand her as a ''learn how to sup'' champ

I included Annie mostly because her damage/cc is pretty much guaranteed and she doesn't really require any skill(compared to Nami/Morg/Thresh). I wouldn't say she's a "learn how to sup" champ but she is easy to support with.

I am not sure how helpful I can be. You could brand me as one of those people who plays a mage as a support. I've usually played solo lane or jungle so when I need to support I go with a mage because I feel like it's better for soloq and I'm more experienced on mages than supports.

Karma has an easy skillshot which offers significant poke, it does great damage the entire game. Her shield and root offer great utility and kiting for you and your team. She doesn't require high level mechanics and doesn't take much practice, if any, and the only skillshot she has is her Q and it's medium difficulty to hit it normally and very easy when you RQ. When enemies go HAM on you botlane you have shield+MS buff to save you or your ADC along with W to root them if they chase after you. She's mobile as she can chase and escape with the same abilities.

Annie has good burst and guaranteed damage. Her Q is easy to spam and to harass with and it's not even a skillshot. Her auto range is also ridiculous so it's very easy to poke down the enemies. Level 6 her ult means instant death for the enemy lane if they're at 50-70% hp and you have flash up. She's easy to play and scales well into the game.

Like I said in the beginning this isn't the support support playstyle where you pamper your ADC, this is the mage support playstyle where you kill your enemies and become a secondary APcarry. The important thing is that even though you bring a lot of damage you still bring support utility with Karma shields/roots/slows and Annie aoe stuns. You also still build sightstone and buy pinks.

  • posted a message on Is the essence reaver now worth buying on ADCs ?

I look at the new Essence Reaver and I want to like it. It has great stats but it just doesn't match up to the other two(three if you include triforce) first items people build on ADCs. ADCs with Bork or IE both beat ADCs with Essence Reaver.

It is superior to BT for some adc-casters because it trades 10% LS for 10% CDR but being superior to BT isn't saying much these days.

ADCs just don't have extreme mana problems by the time they finish building ER. The only way I can see this item being purchasable on ADCs is if it has a cheaper component which gives some sort of mana-regen. Something along the lines of 800-1200 gold which has a mana-passive + 10-30 AD. It would be similar to hexdrinker in the way that you buy a hexdrinker and upgrade it much later. Even then it would never be seen in competitive because it would slow down your power spike from IE/Bork.

I just don't see any way for a mana-item to be equally viable as buying IE/Bork first unless the final item has a stat advantage over them(like old BT had over IE in AD). But considering the number of champions it would be viable on and how difficult to balance it would be I don't see Riot giving it some stat that would overshadow IE's crit or Bork's AS+active. The mana-component would have to build into a larger item which you can rush as a first item and be able to rival IE or Bork's combat efficiency as a single item. Maybe if it had some kind of genius non-overpowered active when you finish the large item or some weird combination of LS/CDR but that just sounds impossible to balance and far too niche.

Most people get pretty aggressive if they have your laner at 15% hp, so I definitely don't agree with the "will never gank" mentality. It would actually make it easier to gank.

Sounds like you're just mad about what people ask and expect of junglers.

Spellvamp is just less effective than every other stat for the majority of champions. The only people who have use for it are Vlad, Akali, and Mordekaiser. Maybe Cass, but I'm skeptical. Everyone else just has a clearly better option to buy.

  • posted a message on How has Kayle come into this?

Kayle has always been extremely powerful, just for some reason not popular. Pre-Q nerf she was primarily a burst champion even though she ALSO had the same DPS she's had recently(not including Runaans). She wasn't played that often until the period of time right before the Q nerf.

Then (a while) after Q nerf people realized she still has an amazing ultimate, her E does tons of damage, and her W offers great sustain and utility and started picking her up again, again not hugely popular.

Then Runaans was popularized for an already OP champion and that put her completely over the top. Everyone started playing her and now she's nerfed again.

It doesn't really make sense, Kayle was always very strong but people just didn't play her for some reason.

tl;dr Kayle is (going to be) the perfect QQ topic for the "My favorite champion got popularized by pros and now they're nerfed fk rito" people because she was never FotM for other than short periods of time.

  • posted a message on ADC Starts - Doran's Blade 1 pot vs Long Sword 3 pots

The sustain evens out at a good amount of autos like people have been saying.

The health helps survivability. Also I don't think you have to get a vamp scepter anymore if you're one of the majority of ADCs which go IE first. I like the 2 dorans build more than the vamp scepter build because it makes you tankier. If you're rushing Bork on an ADC I can see the longsword start being decent because it gets you there faster but I don't think anyone goes first item BT anymore.

It's quite easy to underestimate how tanky Graves can get with just his base stats alone but add that up with his passive and some lifesteal and he's actually quite difficult to kill if you don't burst him down.

Everyone can get life steal. You are overestimating his tankines, when he gets focused by a bigger threat he will just die as easily as Lucian or Jinx. But they still will have more damage than Graves does.

You severely underestimate how tanky Graves can get. While he is prone to getting bursted down by assassins so can Lucian, Jinx and pretty much every marksman in the game, what sets him apart is that against bruisers he can actually slug it out with the best of them and come out on top. A good reason for this is because his free resistances further improve how effective lifesteal is on him. Xypherous made a statement about this some time ago.

The strength of resistance is hidden in a lot of myriad ways. While they only apply to "half" the damage you're taking, that's not the whole picture. What resistances actually do is magnify the effect of your other self-healing, resistance and regeneration effects, while also mitigating the drain effects and % health effects of your opponents.

Late game he gets 30 armor and magic resist from his passive alone. That's 600 gold worth of armor and 600 gold worth of magic resist that he essentially gets for FREE, and is only 20 armor and 10 magic resist away from matching the stats of a Guardian Angel.

People also seem to underestimate Grave's Q+R burst. Combined with his passive he can slug it out with Lucian decently well.

I would agree that Riot definitely has problems a few of their older champions but I would not agree that "all" old champions are badly designed compared to new ones. If you look at a list in chronological order you would notice that the majority of the first 30 champions are still commonly used and relatively effective.

Alistar is difficult to use and a bit outclassed bot lane but can still make plays and has seen some niche play mid. Annie is still quite effective bot/mid even after her fall from fame. Ashe is the same as always, outclassed in laning but superb at her cc-initiate-supportish role. Fiddle is tough to use after the fear changes but his ultimate is as always an effective game changer. Jax is more popular than he has been in a while with people remembering that he's always been OP. Kayle continues to be overtuned as a midlaner even though her Q is basically 1/3 what it was before with the removal of the DFG effect and 1->.6 change of AP ratio all the while her E remained the same and is now her primary tool. Master Yi has been through some weird stuff with his previous AP popularity and now feral flare era but has shown to persevere as an effective assassin who scales well into late game. Morgana was a beast of mid lane S1/2 and has been a staple support pick for a while with her superb cc, damage, and unique shield. Nunu is out of meta with all of the effective jungling items but can still do his job of fking with the enemy jungler and being a nuisance all over the map, nothing like permaban period but still effective at times. Ryze has seen a comeback toplane after being crushed from being a safe mid lane pick. Sion is wrong. Sivir saw soaring popularity and is still a decent pick bot. Soraka is a solo lane monster with high durability, waveclear, and sustain. Teemo is satan. Trist is the same as always with her above average early, weak mid, and great late game. TF is still good mid with high waveclear and mana sustain while also bringing insane map control. Warwick is alright in the jungle with his ult bringing some terrifying ganks. A bunch of these picks get outclassed in some aspects which may be considered more important in the current meta but most of them can still be very viable and successful picks.

  • posted a message on Could someone explain me the Renekton bar

Renekton bar is just the restriction put on top laners where they must be able to survive Renekton's early game in order to outscale him mid/late game and be considered valid top laners. At least that's how I see it. Honestly, playing versus Renekton a fair amount allows you to pretty easily survive early against 90% of Renekton players.

  • posted a message on Play less snowball-dependent champions?

You can really play whatever in lower tiers. If you play aggressive snowbally champions like Renekton/Riven you will probably get fed because people are reckless and make many mistakes you can capitalize on. If you play passive champions like Nasus you can probably farm/scale well into mid/late game because people won't punish you for playing a weak early game champion.

Of course having basic mechanics and map awareness is very important, but you don't have to be some kind of god of rotations/decision-making. I feel like most people lack game knowledge and the confidence to use it. For example an experienced player who's playing a Leblanc vs Ori matchup and knows approximately how much damage he and his enemy can dish out and when he can just go for the surprise flash burst ignite will definitely come out on top of most opponents who don't have this knowledge.

Kills are not the end-all most important thing in the game, but until high gold they are pretty common and cheap so you should take advantage of enemies making mistakes. Just remember that when you kill someone you get a couple hundred gold, a couple waves of farm, and they may lose a wave of farm/exp. Even if you just make someone back with 5 hp after a failed all-in you still gain a good farm advantage. Becoming skilled at last hitting while trading effectively is the gate to success in solo lanes.

You should always be trying to win lane, whether you're Nasus or Renekton. Test the waters, you might just be a Nasus trying to get maximal early stacks but that doesn't prevent you from giving the enemy a love tap when they last hit.

Ah this thing is way too long ramble ramble.
