Ghost in the Shell is in my opinion the greatest anime ever made. Great smart stories(although sometimes they get a little pretentious), really great animation that still holds up well, and a really good dub if you prefer english voice acting.

This is a series I'm planning on watching all the way from the beginning to the end, just an amazing anime series period. It also coincidently one of the few I've seen so far, but from I've heard, Ghost in the Shell is still considered one of the best anime series produced to date.

You can't go wrong with Cowboy Bebop. Probably one of the best anime in our generation.

One of my favorite style of anime is slap-stick/absurd comedy and Nichijou and Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou delivers.

A classic that I'm fond of will always be Detective Conan. I've watched it since I was a child, and I'll probably watch it until the author dies (as morbid as it sounds, it's the truth... I would like him to live forever but it cannot be QQ).

Code Geass, Elfen Lied and One Piece as far as series are concerned.

As a single movie Princess Mononoke is easily my all time favourite. It's a masterpiece for me and I doubt that anything will ever beat that Anime <3

Generally I'm more of a Manhwa/Manga person though. Favourites are Noblesse, Magician, Hunter X Hunter, Shaman King and Rave.

2 - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

Well this thread became a real gold mine when it comes to good anime, gonna bookmark it and use it as archive for future animes I should watch :)

Mine favorite is (IMO mainstream) Naruto, as well as Bleach...haven't watched many others :S

I've watched pokemon and dbz when i was little and now i sometimes watch naruto. I don't like anime in general. Like 99% of the animes are childish crap. I honestly don't understand why there are so many anime-fans. Or maybe there is just some sort of correlation between anime and these sites.

It depends on the group you want to reach... The anime you've seen are Shonen and are (mainly) for males 13+...There are a lot of anime for older people too :)

There are many different genre of anime,all consisting of different stories,style,etc. You just looked at the small variety of anime.

Have you watched Summer Wars? It doesn't have much to do with Ghibil but one of the guys I believed who help create Spirited Away made this movie,it's really good IMO
