Many good were already mentioned, and i wont write my opinion about them, cuz it would be one hell of a wall of post... but what i am surprised is, i didnt see DARKER THAN BLACK mentioned... or i just skipped it by accident here...
Im aswell more the Mangaguys, but animes that i realy liked are Darker than Black ( all 3), FullmetalAlchemist ( Brotherhood ) and who would guess, Atack on Titan.
There are way more and better mangas then there are animes imo. For example Bleach as a anime is just shitt, but as manga its one of the best ive ever readen.
Darker than Black only has one season. The rest don't exist. Mirai Nikki was horse shit. Sword Art Online is a crime against writing. I find Grave of the Fireflies boring. Naruto and One Piece are terrible. Bleach murdered itself. Gundam is a giant wankfest.
Everything that Miyazaki's touched, or that's been made in his studios is absolutely a must watch. Nausicaa, Laputa, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (spirited away), Grave of the Fireflies, Mononoke Hime... If you claim to like anime and you can't appreciate these, I feel sorry for you. Really, these titles are on a level of their own.
Omg the only one I haven't watched out of that list is Grave of the Fireflies. Maybe because I don't want my feels jumped in the alley and left to sob for the remainder of my winter break. I was raised on the rest of the movies; I remember my first Miyazaki movie was Spirited Away (expected) but after that had my dad introduce me to Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky... yeah.
i need to go watch howl's moving castle again ffs
Grave of the Fireflies was amazing! You should try Tale from Earthsea :D
Grave of the Fireflies... You will never watch a movie that will make you cry as much as this will... Still a very good movie though.
I don't ever cry,I'm a man. However I long for (a worthzy opponents) tears to come down my face one day, cause I honestly did though the movie was sad ):
Darker than black has 2 saisons + 1 OVA and ''all 3'' were epic.
Nope. Wrong. Those don't exist. You don't get to make one of the most epic main characters into a pedo-hobo and have your work acknowledged. Also, having season 1 establish incredibly intriguing questions only to NEVER answer any of them isn't doing anyone any favors. The show started off well and went off to crash and burn in a fiery wreckage of burnt dreams.
Darker than Black is less terrible than your average super-power-and-fights-every-episode anime, but, in the end, it's basically Dragonball with a darker atmosphere and dull characters.
As for Steins; Gate, I really had to manmode through the first few episodes to enjoy the show. The goofy parts, I feel, are important to shock / create contrast when the story picks pace and you're faced with the most somber part of the plot, but I still think they were overly so. Having said that, I love Mayushi and will catch myself saying "Tuturu" from time to time (=P). All in all, 7/10. Would watch again.

Cumming bruh , You know what you should watch? Schooldays and boku no pico
For anyone that liked SAO if you didn't check it out yet I enjoyed the authors other series Accel World, although I really hope that both it and SAO are continued in anime form since beyond the anime there are quite a few light novels.
i rly like sword art onlin because kazuto reminds me alot of myself because of his dark hair and he's always alone and im always alone at the lunch table at school and when the girl who totally wanted him died in that dungeon it was rly sad bcause you knew she was dead forever it reminded me of the linking park song "carwling in my skin" but its ok all the pixelated girls are on his dick cuz hes a fucking PLAYA and when he was lvl 90 before everyone else i liked it because it reminded me of league where I wish i was magically lvl 18 10 minutes in and i really liked it when he got the double swords it reminded me of LOL wherre i wish i could just smash my keyboard and win the game without thinking about it
ANGEL BEATS was nice as well... but kinda sad/romantic finish... i dont like sad things... cowboy bebop destroyed me in the end of anime...
BEN-TO - really noone? :D
SHIKI - am just midway in reading manga... is anime good as well?
HELLSING - ftw...
(ok so bit of my opinion will go in... i am more for manga, but one of my first and favourite is cowboy bebop... anime, manga, movies... and i want keanu reevs to do that movie in the end! other than that i watched many things and read even more - books are expensive so i converted to manga a bit cuz i am bookworm- so i wouldnt be able to write everything here even if i wanted to...and sword art online caught me when i was just in mmorpg mood, so i liked it as well... and for manga fans - anyone knows liars game? :D and if u like supernatural BB project or veritas were of my favourites, but they finished/ werent finished... :( oh yeah.. and i like yu-gi-oh first few series... am kinda card freak as well... but 5d's and zexal sux... i barely managed to see that academy-thingy....)
AND ONE BONUS 4FUN - Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita.

I enjoy watching Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu currently, after having watched the positive review of Arkada on Youtube. It falls into roughly the same category as Steins;Gate, but I'm not sure yet, if it will get as much drama.
Genre deconstructions like Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica are also really amazing. I like it when authors are not afraid of presenting ideas, which are hard to digest. I mean, just watch the third movie if you haven't done so already. The Urobutcher can be a real jerk sometimes.
I also love parodies. Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill take the cake there for me there.
Then there is the genre, which I like to call "random". Nichijou, FLCL and Angel Beats. They all follow the rule of funny.
Then we have the mind fuck genre, like NGE and Serial Experiments Lain. They are so symbolic, that it's hard for me to understand what's actually going on sometimes.
Not sure where to put it, but who doesn't like killer lolis with insane laughter? Yes, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni was awesome. Especially the first season. If you don't know it, watch it right now!
How about more insane laughter? Mirai Nikki delivers that.
Out of the action genre I like Soul Eater (world of ham, no more words), Baccano (surprise of the year for me, so fresh and interesting) and Shingeki no kyoujin (Attack on Titan)of course
Basically I have favorites for almost any genre. Some anime I only loved the first seasons of, like Death Note (the second arc was so unnessecary) or Sword Art Online (finally a female protagonist who is not a damsel in distress. Nevermind, second season delivers exactly that).
